Then daddy saw how miserable I was and decided we were gonna move to Mississippi. I didn’t wanna go because I was afraid that if I left then I might miss a chance to see Chase again. It was a hard month but we finally got pack the house was for sale and all our stuff was loaded onto a U-Haul truck. Daddy didn’t tell me why we had moved until we were there. He told me, “You wanna know why we moved to Mississippi?” He asked me. I had just shrugged my shoulders because I didn’t really care all I wanted to do was see Chase again. He told me the answer, “Because Chase lives around where here.” When he told me my entire attitude changed. I wanted to get to Mississippi ASAP. As soon as we reached the house it only took me twenty-five minutes to unpack all my things from the U Haul. I set up my bed all by myself without any help. I unpacked all my things and put them exactly where they were in the last house. So when Chase came over he would instantly recognize my room and who I was. The truth was I wanted him to hold me in my bed again like he did back then. It took eight long years to track Chase down by myself I got information from every person I saw. I described the boy I knew and some people said they didn’t and some said they saw him at an ice cream shop or a pizzeria. I would go to those places and wait for house at a time for an entire day. I didn’t know where to start looking anymore I felt sad knowing that I might never see him again. Then one day after seven years of looking I saw him with you, Alex. I followed you guys to everyplace you went then I saw you guys go into a school. I waited for you guys to go into the school first then I went in. Before I knew it I had lost you guys in a crowd of people so I went to the office. I asked, “Does a boy named Chase Hinderson went to this school?” They looked at the computer for a few seconds then gave me an answer. “Why yes he does, do you need to see him or give him something?” I told them “No, I just needed to make sure.” When I walked out of the school I ran lightning fast to my house to go tell daddy. When I made it there he wasn’t there so I called him to tell him the new but his phone was off so I left voice message on his phone. When he came home that night I was up waiting for him in the living room he had congratulated me on my findings. We talked about what I was gonna do to get close to him again, that’s when dad offered to enroll me in the same school Chase went to. A surge of happiness over power me and I screamed out a yes instead of keeping my cool and just saying yes like a normal person. Now you know everything about what happened nine years ago I got enrolled and I went to school with Chase but it wasn’t what I expected and that’s how we’re all here today.” She finished they’re past with Chase. Alex didn’t know what to about this now he knew what to do. He knew exactly how things were gonna turn out if Chase remembered everything. “If Chase remembers everything then he should have the same feeling he had nine years ago. Although I can’t promise everything will go right but I know that if we send him down the right path things will go right.” Nikeya and her father both said, “Really?” Alex nodded his head and Nikeya started to cheer. Her father had thanked him and had even offered to properly greet himself. He extended his left arm and held out his hand, “My name is Clayton Deccan.” Alex gripped Clayton’s hand tightly and replied, “My name is Alex Melendez it’s nice to finally meet you.” Clayton handed Nikeya her duffel bag and said, “He had to get home and that he would come to check up on Nikeya in a week.” Nikeya and Alex both said, “We look forward to it.” Clayton walked to his car and drove off, Nikeya was still waving and Alex was thinking where should he start? They both went inside, to their surprise Chase was in the kitchen making more food. “Chase how long have you been there?” Nikeya asked hoping he didn’t hear any of the conversation. “Actually I just got in the kitchen a minute ago and decided to make something for us to eat.” He replied. “Oh man I’m starving what are you making?” Alex asked while rubbing his stomach. “Beef stew from scratch I just started peeling the potatoes.” He answered while placing a freshly peeled potato on the chopping board. Alex then saw his moment to put his plan into action. “Nikeya wanted to know if she could help you cook this time, if it’s alright with you.” Nikeya looked at Alex for suggesting something she never said. Chase had a blank stare on his face for a few seconds then responded, “Sure I could use an extra hand.” Nikeya handed her pink duffel bag to Alex and shyly went over to Chase to go help. Alex went to go set down the duffel bag in the game room and came right back to watch the beginning of his plan shift into phase one.
