Sometime during the movie we bumped knees.
This might not sound like much to some people but to others this can be a big deal. You know that scene in television shows and movies when the couple holds hands for the first time and the romantic background music plays? Well, this was our hand holding.
It happened during the part of the movie when the heroes realised that they had been double crossed by someone that they trusted. You know the part.
We were both wearing jeans today. Kam's knee knocked against mine for a brief moment and my body froze. I was surprised. His knee then bumped against mine once again. I peeked down, and this time he didn't move.
Were the first two times just accidents? Did he even notice that our knees touched? Was he waiting for me to react?
I didn’t want to keep being that shy kid from high school. It was time for me to take action.
I moved my knee and nudged his a little. He didn't recoil, that was a good sign. I then rested my leg against his own. Maximum contact! I leaned back into my chair, but I was far from relaxed.
We kept our knees leaning against each other until the part in the movie where the heroes believed they had defeated the enemy. Then the collateral damage becomes apparent and they have to escape from their current location.
It was a good thing that it was dark in the theater, or else Kam might have seen me blushing.
