“Hmm… I’ll think about it.” The employer said.
“Are ya friggin kidden me?” Thendalaisa shouted, clearly making a scene, “I’ve walked miles ta get to this friggin little stand and ask if I can join the Pathfinder guild.” The entire market stopped their hustling and bustling to oggle this young dwarf, shouting at a pathfinder representative.
“Sshhh. Shh! ” the employer said, trying to contain the situation.
“Oh so now yer goin ta shush me?! Oh, I see how it is you penny pinchin’ hack! You just don’ wanna have a woman on yer payroll!”
“No no no no no! Of course not miss, it’s just that-”
“Jus’ that what?” She said, giving the employer a steely glare
“Um… it’s just that…” the entire crowd stared at him with the same steely gaze, clearly angry that this poor dwarvish woman was being bullied by a bigot elf. He dabbed his brow with his handkerchief. “It’s just that the port is over there.” he sighed, pointing at a nearby ship.
“Haha!” Thendalaisa shouted triumphantly, She then trotted off to the ship, intent on keeping to her destiny. She kept on walking, making sure that everyone could tell where she was going. She was going to the Pathfinder ship, only the most prestigious adventuring company this side of the island. She was going to be rich! She would show those two-bit arsehole high elders that a slagchild could be successful too. She was walking along, hands on her hips quite triumphantly, and this rude guard bumped directly into her. She stared him down and said, “Well hello there you rude bastard!”
“Oops, pardon me, I don’t believe we’ve met.” He giggled, he leaned over just a bit, he was literally a human-sized fox. Just that. She had to come up with some kind of insult… there was something in there…
“Well, why don’ cha hop on back to the woods, you smarmy ass!” She snarled, “an’ stop gigglin’! You sound like yer mad!” The Madman giggled some more and skipped away, clearly enjoying himself. Thendalaisa, on the other hand, was not. Now she just wanted to get on the ship and get rich. That guard was very… unsettling. He gave off an aura of uncomfortableness. She watched him as he skipped down to the ship hopped right on, pushing a civilian into the water. What an absolute arse. She headed down to the dock as well, now dreading the months ahead where she would have to spend time with people like that.
