I was on my way back to the farm as I watched Ash socializing with this random guy with crazy, spiky hair. He looked like he was from "Dragon Ball Z". As I trotted down the path, the cool spring air filled my lungs. It felt amazing to be breathing in fresh, country air. As I looked around, I noticed a bus station that was empty. There was a tunnel to the left of it. It looked... eerie, somehow. I shrugged it off and kept on trotting down the path. When I almost reached the entrance, I felt a buzz in my back pocket. I took out my flip phone, which I really should've upgraded by now, and put it up to my ear. 
"Hello," I said.
"Hey! Roco!" A female voice replied. It was my sister, Tobi. 
"Hey!" I squeaked back, pretending to be excited.
"How's life on the farm goin' for ya? Make any new friends? Are there any weird people? IS everyone there a jerk???" Tobi blabbered on. I rolled my eyes. She's too talkative.
"I'm fine. I... uh... I gotta go! I think my crops are dying, bye." I said as I jabbed the hangup button with my index finger.

   I put the phone back in my pocket and continued through the entrance. I heard Linden speaking, but it was in the weirdest voice I ever heard. It sounded distorted and in a weird accent. 
"Uh... Linden? What are you..." I gasped as I saw what she was doing. There, on our front porch, was a random dog, and Linden was petting it like she knew this dog all her life. That explained the weird voice.
"Whoooooo's a good doggie??? Who is?? You are, Niko! Yoooooooou!" She cooed to the random dog that was apparently Niko is her weird baby-talk voice.
"What do you think you're doing with this random stray???" I bellowed, terrified at the scruffy mutt. Linden froze and looked up at me. Then like her usual self, she leaned back in a porch rocking chair, adjusted her backward baseball cap (which always bothered me) and blew her hair out her face.
"Don't be so stupid, Ro. This is Niko, our new dog. The ranch runner named Marnie gave him to me." Linden replied as she rolled her eyes at my comment. I watched in disgust as the dog panted and drool rolled off of his meaty, pink tongue.
"Um, don't you need a license???"
"Apparently, not on the Southern Coast."
"But why did you let in this random dog???"
"'Cuz I can."
"You can't keep it! I don't like dogs! They drool and poop and..." I looked at the dog as he stared at me. He looked like he almost understood what I was saying. I felt bad... really bad.
"Uh... sorry. This dog is an exception." I stuttered, somehow finding the courage to place my hand on the dog's furry, brown head. I kind of like this random dog now.
