As Dillon's hand began to petrify. Amore and Caesar arrive to him.
While Medusa backed away, horrified of what she’s done.
"Mother Earth!" Amore called, and within an instant she was there.
Mother Earth places her hand above them. A green glow shrouds them, and they vanish.
She turns to Medusa. "Come with me, we can stop anyone else, from getting hurt."
Medusa said nothing. Just sat there, looking at her in a daze.
Mother Earth takes that as a no, and takes her leave.
Jacob walks over to where he last heard voices. "Medusa what just happened?" He asked.
"My snake bit him, I need to go." She said as she stood up.
"Go, where?"
"I can't be here."
"Medusa." He plead.
"Jacob I need to be alone right now okay, please don't follow me." Then she walks into the woods, as Jacob stands there. Both of them unsure of well. Everything.
Elsewhere Mother Earth meets back up with our heroes.
"Where are we?" Amore asked, as she looked around.
The entire space, looked like space. Dark green, with tiny green lights, like stars in the night sky.
"This is a space I created long ago, I never thought I would ever need this place again, but we needed somewhere out of sight."
Caesar was astonished. "So you created another dimension."
"Magic is everywhere on this planet, I used the surrounding magic to create this for my guardians, who dubbed it the Garden."
"This is really cool and all, but can we focus on the fact, I'm becoming a statue!" The petrifying effect starting to spread from Dillon's hand to his arm.
"There's way to stop this right?" Caesar asked Mother Earth.
"There's no realistic way to do that."
That phrasing interested Caesar. “Is there an unrealistic way?”
"The odds of you surviving are low."
"So what we just stand, by and do nothing?" Caesar said.
"If you fail, you will perish." Mother Earth warned.
"I'll go by myself, you guys shouldn't put your lives on the line, to save me." Dillon said.
"We're not letting do this alone, we're suppose to be a team, and teams never leave a man to fend for himself." Amore proclaimed.
"She's right." Caesar said.
A soft smile crept upon Dillon’s face. "Thanks, guys."
"Are you sure about this, you will face many dangers, and I am not even hundred percent sure what you're looking for will work?"
Amore stood forward. "You picked us because you believed in us, don't stop now."
"You all are in agreement?" Mother Earth asked them.
The three nodded.
"Very well then, what you're looking for, is a mirror, it possess the power to reverse spells that have been placed, on the things it sees, within Medusa's snakes is a magical poison, most look at her face and the petrifying spell is casted, but in your case Dillon, you got it from the snake itself, which means instead of instant petrification, it's will take some time."
Dillon couldn’t help, but start to worry. "How long?"
"I'm don't exactly know, but probably some hours."
"Well we should get going then." Dillon said. The harsh reality, of his situation was beginning to sink in.
"The mirror resides, in the temple Medusa was kept in."
“Where is it?” Caesar asked.
“Underground.”
Amore couldn’t believe. "There's a temple under our town, how did we not know that?"
Mother Earth said in a somber voice. "It was sealed off to make sure no one did, and they didn't, until those explorers came, and released Medusa."
"Is everything okay?" Amore could hear the sadness, in Mother Earth’s voice.
"I'm fine, just thought I'd never have to do this, I should have learned by now unpredictability, is the most predictable in life."
Dillon falls to the floor, holding his arm, with grimace. “Aargh!”
Caesar and Amore walk over to him. Amore turns to Caesar and says. "We need to go now."
"Mother Earth, how do we get there?" Caesar asked.
"I can teleport you there, unfortunately I have used a lot of magic as of late, and won't have enough power to bring you back."
"That's fine, we'll find our way back." Caesar assured. Amore and Caesar each take one of Dillon's arms and help him up, standing before Mother Earth.
"Before you leave, I must prepare you for this mission, the wall behind Medusa's tomb leads to the next room, now the all the entrances were sealed off, so you'll have to break through the wall, but when you enter the stone gargoyles statues that, protect the temple will come to life, and try to stop you, they have no known weaknesses, so you will have to figure out a way around that."
Dillon said with confidence. "Easy." That bravado masking the genuine fear and uncertainty he felt.
"I will be resting to regain my magic, and I'll be here when you return." Mother Earth raises her hands above them. Covering them in a green glow and green particles, as they fade away. "Good luck my children."
Seconds later, The Guard appear in a tunnel. They take to look around the dark dank tunnel. Before seeing a jagged opening in the rock wall.
As they walk into the Medusa's crypt. They notice rubble the ground. And what they see next leaves Amore agasp.
"Woah." Dillon says looking, at the stone statues, of people frozen in terror.
"I guess these are these explorers, who found Medusa." Caesar deducts.
They all stare, at the stone people. Trying to wrap their minds around the fact, that these statues, are really people.
Once Amore tears her eyes away. She sees the tomb trimmed in green and gold. "I can't imagine being stuck in this for centuries, no wonder she doesn't want to go back." She thought. Then turns her attention to the wall behind the tomb. "Anyone know how we're gonna break through this wall?" Amore asked.
"Yeah, punch it." And with the thought of a gorilla, Dillon starts punching the wall. The wall shakes, and dust falling. Though, no matter how hard he punches, the wall won’t yield. Exhaustion setting in, he hunches over. Pressing his hand against the wall.
While that's happening. Caesar examines the wall, trying to come up with an idea, then it hits him. He puts his hand on the wall.
"What are you doing?" Dillon asked.
"Shhhh." Caesar responds. He closes his eyes. Attempting to make his idea, a reality. He feels a tickling sensation, as the magic builds up in his hand. It's then released as supersonic waves, that spreads throughout the wall. The waves sends an image scan of the inside of the wall, into his head. "Got ya." He said.
"Got what?" Dillon asked.
"I took a Geo-seismic scan of the wall, and found the least dense part of it, now time bust through."
"How, I couldn't even crack it." Dillon couldn’t with animal strength, so what could Caesar do?
Caesar began to whirl his hands around clockwise. Forming a ring of light, in front of him.
"Caesar, what is that?" Amore was in wonder.
"An idea, I gave up with last night." He continued to move his hands circles, as another ring formed in front of the first, and another in front of that. Once they had finished forming, the light faded. As he looked upon his creation.
Five sky blue tinted, glass like lens. Each one smaller than the last. With holes the same size, in the center.
Amore and Dillon stare, with their jaws dropped. "How?" The former asked.
"Mother Earth said we could do anything remember, so I thought about what I could do, and this is what I came up with."
"What does it do?" Dillon asked.
"This." Caesar places his hands in front of the device palms first. "Hope this works." He concentrates on his invention, and its’ purpose.
One by one the rings glow. And when the final ring does. "Fire." The device shoot a black laser beam, at the wall.
The torrent of energy continues, with Caesar's mind utterly focused, on the task at hand. Slowly the wall begins to break. The cracks spreading further down the wall.
Caesar, gives it his all, but he tires. Just a little bit longer, told himself. But he body can't do it, and he falls to the his knees.
"Hey you okay man?" Dillon asked.
"I'm fine.” Caesar said, taking deep breaths. Then stands a leg up.
"I think you should stop, before you could hurt yourself." Amore said.
"Don't worry, I'll finish what you started." Dillon said, to Caesar. Before he starts punching the wall again. Though Dillon commands an unrelenting assault. The wall still does not break.
"It's not working, so let me handle this." Caesar tell him, just getting up.
"Caesar wait, let us help you." Amore said.
"How?" He asked.
"Your invention is powered by magic, Dillon and I can use our powers, to take some of the strain off of you."
That doesn't sound like a bad idea to Caesar. "Okay fine, let's try it." He stands in front of his invention, with Amore on his left and Dillon to his right.
Caesar places both hands at the device. While his comrades place one hand at the device, and the other on one of his shoulders.
The invention powers up again, and fires an energy beam. Except this time, it's not just black. It's now covered in pink rings, and a white energy resembling electricity.
As the stream of energy hits. Cracks quickly engulfs the wall. Until it crumbles.
"We did it." Amore said, with wide smile.
"Let's go guys." Dillon said.
Caesar hesitates. "Wait, I need to..." Caesar is cut off, by his invention Shattering to pieces. "Nevermind, guess it puts itself away." He said, and the others laugh.
Dillon's laughter ends, as he feels his arm turn to stone, just below his shoulder. But he says nothing, as they walk through a short corridor, onto the next room.
When our heroes enter, they look in awe taking it in. The chamber five times bigger than the previous one, in width and height.
"How are we gonna find the mirror in a place this big?" Amore asked.
Looking high on the wall, at a block sticking out. Dillon summons the power of a hawk. He eyes zooms in, and see a mirror a top the block. "Got it."
Caesar and Amore squint their eyes, looking in the same direction, but can't see it. "Are you sure?" The latter asked.
"Positive." He said before taking flight.
Caesar remembers about the gargoyles, Mother Earth mentioned. His eyes search the room, and notice a white stone gargoyle in a corner. "Why aren't they attacking?" He wonders.
Dillon reaches the mirror, and grabs it. He's filled with joy, as he makes his descent down.
The gargoyle statue’s stone skin instantaneously cracks, and it takes off towards Dillon.
"Dillon!" Amore and Caesar called out.
