Dillon lied in bed, unable to feel his arm. He lifts up his shirt, to see the entirety of it, is now stone, and his torso is turning as well.
"Dillon hurry up, before you're late for school!" His mom said.
Dillon pulled his shirt back down, inhaled and exhaled deeply, and proceeded to drag himself out of bed.
Caesar walked through the student filled halls of Moss City High. Making his way to Amore's locker, as she put up her books.
"Hey" He greets her.
"Hey, have you heard from Dillon?" She asked.
"No he won't answer, or call me back."
"Me either." Amore turned toward the school door. "Caesar." She calls staring, at the something.
Caesar turned around, to see Dillon walking into school. Once he reaches the two.
Amore asks the first question on her mind. "Why haven’t you been answering our calls or texts?"
"I turned my phone off."
"Not at first, it didn't start going to voicemail til' later." Caesar said.
"I didn't want to talk to anybody, okay." Dillon said.
"Well I needed to talk to you, because I figured out a way to save you." Caesar told him.
"Wait what, what is it?" He asked.
"Remember Medusa's glare is what turned people to stone, but it was her snake's bite that got you."
"Okay." Dillon still isn't getting it.
"My point, is a snake's bite isn't what kills people, its the venom’s magic is, so said venom could be used to make a cure, we get some of that venom, and we can make an antidote."
"We need to find Medusa." Dillon doesn't plan on letting this opportunity slip through his fingers.
Caesar assures him. "After school we'll start looking for her."
"Caesar, I can't wait that long.
"We can't ditch." Amore persisted.
"I'll look by myself, you guys can catch up later."
Amore responses. "You can't do this alone, we're strongest together, and Medusa will probably put up a fight."
"Mother Earth found Medusa last time, maybe she can do it again." Caesar said.
"She was at that farm, before she's probably still there." Dillon turned around, and walked toward the door.
"Dillon, Dillon stop." Caesar called, to no avail.
"What do we do?” Amore asked Caesar.
"Go after him."
Amore's scared if she ditches school, she knows that will be enough reason for her mom, to put her back in homeschooling, and whatever hope she had of adventure ends.
"Amore, you coming?"
"Yeah." She ultimately realizes, she can't do nothing while her partners face danger. Whatever consequences there may be, she'll have to deal with them later.
Her and Caesar run through a crowd of students. When they finally get outside, they look to the sky, as Dillon in guard form, with eagle wings flies off.
Caesar looks, and doesn't see anyone around so. "Time to guard up."
"Guard." The two call. Pink and black lights flash, and their transformation completes.
Amore rises from the ground, and shoots into the sky.
While plane wings appear from Caesar's back. The rockets start, and away he goes.
As they soar Amore reaches an abrupt halt, realizing she has no idea where they're going. "Do you remember where the farm was?"
"No, I just followed the light like you, I didn't pay much attention to where we were, or how we got there." Caesar facepalms.
"We should ask Mother Earth." Amore suggested.
"You needed my assistance?" A voice asked.
"Mother Earth?" Asked our pair of heroes.
"Yes children."
"How did you know?" Amore asked.
"Dillon called me, asking for the location of Jacob's farm, and when I asked where you two were, he said you decided to stay at school, I said I wouldn't tell him where until you all could go, and he ran off."
"Could you tell us how to get there?" Caesar asked.
"Of course child." Green particles shoot from Mother Earth's hand, hitting the guards' sides.
"The information has been uploaded to your phones."
Caesar decides to try something new, he's been thinking about. He focuses on the armor that covers his pants' pocket, bringing his hand to his side. That spot of armor becomes intangible, and he grabs his phone from his pocket.
Amore surprised asks him. "Since when could you do that?"
"Since now, it's a time saver, now let's find Medusa before Dillon does."
"Good luck my children." And Mother Earth slowly fades away once more.
Caesar looked at his phone. "This way." He pointed to the left, and off they go.
Fast-forward a few minutes, Dillon arrives at Jacob's farm. Where Jacob is carrying a bale of hay. Dillon lands in front of Jacob.
"Which one of you is it?" Jacob asked.
Dillon is stunned. "How did you know?"
"The thump you and your friends make when you land, now could you answer my question?"
"Uh, I'm the one your friend's snake bit."
"Oh.” Jacob feels a little bad now. “I'm sorry about that." He said with the uttermost sincerity.
"If you really mean that, tell me where Medusa is."
"Why?" Jacob asked.
"I need her help." Dillon replied.
"Sorry, but I don't know where she is?"
"You really expect me to believe that?"
"It's the truth, after what happened yesterday she ran off, and I haven't heard from her since."
"Where would she go?"
"I don't know." Dillon raises his hand to his forehead, frustration building.
"Dillon." He looked up as, his allies descend from the sky.
"I thought you guys were still at school." He said.
"We would be, if you didn't run off." Caesar explained.
"It's okay guys, all that matters is we're together, and we get Medusa's help." Amore reasoned.
Jacob reiterates himself. "Like I already told your friend she's not here, and I don't know where?"
Dillon still doesn't buy it. "Come on, you have to have some idea."
"Sorry, but I can't help you."
"Do you still have that bandana she was wearing yesterday?" Caesar asked Jacob.
"Yeah." Jacob said.
"Dillon, you can use the scent, from the bandana to find Medusa." Caesar said.
"That's a great idea." Dillon smiled, he might still have a chance.
"Wait, if I give you the bandana, what will you do when you find her?" Jacob asked.
Caesar answered. "Get some of her venom, and make a cure, that's it."
Amore adds to that. "We just want to save our friend."
Their words soothe Jacob worries. So he walked off, and couple minutes later returned bandana in hand. "Promise me, you won't capture her."
"You have my word." Amore assured him.
Jacob hears the sincerity in her voice, and feels okay handing her the bandana.
"Thank you." She said taking the bandana.
"Jacob, I need your help!"
"That's my dad, um if you find Medusa tell her, she always has a friend, and a place here."
Amore nods. "Will do."
“Jacob!"
"Coming dad!" Jacob turns to our heroes. "Good luck." And walks off.
Dillon takes a sniff of the bandana. "I think I got her scent, this way." He pointed to the woods, and runs off, with Amore and Caesar right behind.
After a while, Dillon reached a stop. Caesar wondered why. "You lost the scent?"
"No, but it's so faint, I can't tell where to go next."
Amore has a plan. "Well let's look around, and see what we find."
"We should split up, can cover more ground that way." Dillon suggested.
Although Amore’s not too sure about that. "Don't you think, we should stay together?"
“I have to agree with Dillon on this, but we promise we'll do everything not, to get into a fight." Caesar said.
Dillon nodded in agreement, and they went their separate ways through the forest.
Amore trying her best to stay hopeful, they'll find Medusa.
Caesar took a moment,to ponder new ways to find her.
Dillon kept trying to sniff her out with, no success.
Amore walked through some brush. When the sound, of wood snapping garnered her attention.
Following the sound, she tumbled upon a solemn Medusa, looking down at the wooden rumble beneath her feet. "Medusa."
Medusa looked up, with shock and fear. "What are you doing here?"
"I was looking for you, I need your help."
Medusa tiredly pleads. "Please go."
"Could we just talk for a few minutes?"
Medusa stared ,at her for a second, before taking a deep sigh. "Fine."
Amore walked halfway down the little hill she's standing on, and took a seat.
It took Medusa a few seconds, but she finally goes over, and sat next to her.
Amore is a little nervous, worried she will say no. So she decides to be straightforward. "Okay, I know you're really scared right now, but my friend needs your snake's venom, to make a cure."
"There's no cure." Medusa said.
"There could be, with your help." Amore told her.
"I'm sorry, but it won't work, the venom will kill him faster."
"Look I get it, you're afraid and feel alone, and helpless but you're not, you have power, the power to save my friend, I know you never wanted to hurt anyone, you're a good person, so is he and he needs you."
Medusa can't look Amore in the eye. She just looks down at her lap. Overcome with fear of unknown, but also guilt for not even trying. "Okay, I'll do it." She said.
Amore overwhelmed with happiness and hopefulness, pulled her into a hug. Hugging her tightly, with a wide smile. "Thank you, you won't regret this."
Medusa is left speechless, and frozen by this action. Though second by second she became more, and more comfortable.
Resulting in her reciprocating of her first hug in millennia, and first hug from anyone other than Mother Earth period.
After a few moments, they part. "Sorry, when I'm happy I hug." Amore imagines that might had been awkward for Medusa.
"It okay."
Amore stood up. "Well if we're gonna do this, we're going to need backup, Mother Earth." Her call heeded, as the Mother Earth's form began to shape.
With a smile she greets. "Amore." She gazes over to the girl next to Amore. Her next word is said in a hard to decipher tone. Very calm, though slightly surprised. "Medusa."
The young girl hangs her head down, unwilling to make eye contact. "Hello mother."
"I'm glad to see you are okay.”
"She's gonna help us." Amore cheerfully explained.
"Well then, let's get started." She shrouds the girls in a green sparkle, and teleports them to the Garden.
Medusa took in her surroundings. This was her first time seeing this place.
"Mother Earth we should call..., Mother Earth?" Amore tried to suggest, before realizing she isn't there. She then returns with Caesar and Dillon.
The boys gather their surroundings. Confused by going from alone in the woods, to suddenly standing in Mother Earth's dimension.
Dillon noticed Medusa, and the first thing he asks. "She said yes?" Amore nods. Dillon walked toward Medusa, and gives a heartfelt. "Thank you."
Medusa is shocked by his words. Why would he be thanking her, she's the reason for his current predicament. "No thank you needed."
Caesar looks to Mother Earth. "So we're ready?"
"Yes child, let's begin."
Mother Earth stands before Medusa. She forms a cup out green glowing energy. Bringing it to the latter's snake, which hisses at the former. The snake takes the bait, and bites down on the cup. The venom oozes from its’ fangs, slowly filling the bottom of the cup.
Once Mother Earth feels she has enough. She withdraws the snake from the cup. Which again hisses, lunging at her hand.
Only to bite into nothing. For Mother Earth's hand had become intangible. She remained completely unfazed by its attack, placing the cup on the ground.
"Here." She motioned Amore, Caesar and Dillon over. They stand around the cup, forming a triangle.
"Raise your hands above the cup." Mother Earth commands. They do exactly, as Mother Earth instructs.
"Concentrate on the cup, think of the venom being purified, that should create an anti-venom."
The three heroes stare at the cup. Streams of magic in their respective colors, pour from their hands.
The magic swirls around the cup, as the venom absorbs it. And the longer they go, the brighter their magics glows.
But at the same time Mother Earth noticed, Dillon having trouble breathing. "Dillon are you alright?"
With shaky breath he tells her. "I'm fine."
Caesar and Amore look, at him both worried. "Dillon, me and Caesar get do this, you should rest." She tried to convince him.
"I'm good." He said, taking harsh breaths.
Medusa watched on, though she can't any longer. Deciding to walk over to Dillon, placing her hands on his.
"What are you doing?" He asked.
"Saving someone for once." Dillon's bright white magic is infused, with Medusa's illuminating green magic.
As all four's magic continues spinning around the cup, the glows become almost blinding, and swirl at incredible speed. Faster and faster, brighter, and brighter until flash. An intense light engulf everything. Blinded by light, they each take a step back.
Medusa blinked her eyes a few times, as they readjust. She looked over the cup of venom laying in the center of this space. It looked likr the same clear ooze.
When the others finally regain their sight. Dillon asks. "Did it work?"
Mother Earth's answer is simple. "We won't know, until we try it."
She walked to the cup, and with a thought, a syringe appeared in her hand. Said syringe sucked up all the venom, then she turned to Dillon. "Are you ready?”
He hoarsely responds. "Yes."
She instructs. "Take off your helmet."
That may be a problem. "I can't move my right arm."
Amore stepped in. "Let me help." Grabbing both sides of his helmet she pulled.
With it now off, Medusa turned her head as a precaution.
Mother Earth placed the syringe at the base of Dillon's neck. He hissed, as the needle pierced his skin.
Mother pushed the plunger til' the syringe is empty, now withdrawing the needle.
Dillon gasped, going into shock. He started petrifying up his neck to his face, then stop. He stood there covered in brown stone.
To be continued...
