They split us up into 2 groups, A and B. Then they split both of those groups into 3 minor groups, A1, A2 and A3. Even then they split those groups into two, A1A and A1B. There were a total of thirty-two individuals, but the minor groups had only 3 members each. The groups were formed for a training program, everyone here had special abilities and so using them in a team would benefit everyone.
I was in A1A, my group consisted of a rebel from Thetikos who made shields out of literally air, a sorceress-in-training and me. We weren’t able to do much so the leader insisted for us to go do some quests to increase our level, that means decrease for me I guess. The rebel waited at the tower for me to get a quest, the sorceress followed me to the store I entered earlier. She didn’t say a thing since I’ve met her.
I was having a hard time choosing a quest mostly due to my group mate not saying a thing, she just nodded and nodded. “… Hey, why don’t you choose the quest?” I said to her, she walked up to the board and removed a red paper. The paper was a boss quest; I don’t think I’m anywhere near prepared for that. “! Why that? Can’t we get the one that’s not red and deadly?” I asked her cautiously.
She just shook her head and slammed the paper into my face, I took it from her and sighed. “Okay, we’ll take this quest then I guess…” I say as I head over to the counter to apply for the quest, the person who saw my quest asked told me of how no one else wanted to take that quest due to how extremely hard it is. I just smile at them while trying not to cry.
We were walking back to the tower and she still didn’t say anything at all “Why don’t you talk?” I ask her, she just nods. Ha-ha, I’m going to die to a boss quest with a sorceress who doesn’t speak I say to myself, once we reached the tower the rebel looked at the quest we got. He approved it and said that he doesn’t think we’re capable of beating the boss quest, “I’ll try my best to help you not die.” He said.
The quest we took was taking place in Asymchoritos, a giant cyclops kidnapped the daughter of the mayor of the far village and is holding her hostage in the mountains. I scratch my head and regret agreeing to this, the party leader walked past us and she saw our quest and said “Wow, boss quest already? Good luck out there!” and left. I slammed my head into a tree a couple times since I truly do regret being here.
Before we began questing, we introduced ourselves since we didn’t do that earlier. The rebel went by the name Apollo, aged 16. The sorceress went by the name Yui, aged 11. I notice that everyone here has a different nationality and language, but can understand everything. I presume it’s one of this world’s magic tricks. After a while, we set off to our adventure and head to the shore.
We got unto a boat and sailed during the evening, Apollo was rock-throwing and Yui was sleeping. I on the other hand was navigating the ship, since everyone else was too lazy to drive the boat in one direction for thirty minutes… When we arrived, I anchored the ship and told everyone to ready themselves. Looking around, there was nothing but mountains that towered over us.
We started searching for a cyclops near the shore before going up the mountain, there were a couple caves, but they were empty. Then we hear the ground rumble, we looked up to the mountains and see waves of giant boulders rolling towards us, we had nowhere to go.
