The next few replies would be the agreement and them deploying such a tactic, which altered the event’s flow a bit. A few replies and they were set for the sneak attack.

They were proceeding as planned, taking a sneaky approach that would put them behind the criminals who took the pier. Volt waited for Kagerou cut her way through the wood. She looked down in the meantime and saw that they were right on top of the water, with only their hand strength and positioning keeping them above the water. They decided to go in sneaky, this was the price. It was easy for Kagerou, but slightly more daunting for Volt.

“Can we go a bit…faster?” She asked. She was hesitant turning of her powers in case they needed it suddenly, but having it actively run a current through her while being atop a mass of water was not remotely safe for Volt’s health.

“Don’t worry, I got this.” Kagerou said, adjusting the beam. She had to be careful. Too much power and the criminals will see, too little and they will need a little more time to cut, time which they might not have. Kagerou tested the density of the wood, estimated the thickness, before setting up the laser beam’s strength. It took some time, so she decided to ask.

“Hey, how’s Hazel doing? I haven’t visited for so long.” Kagerou asked as she calibrated and fiddled around with her hand laser. “Does she know you’re a superhero?”

Volt sighed at the first reply, seeing as she needed to keep balance for a while. The second reply surprised her. Normally she wouldn’t talk on the job, but since it was about Hazel…

“Well, no not yet.” Volt told Kagerou “I never really thought of telling her. I figured I shouldn’t until this whole situation blows over.” Volt added.

“But who knows, she might never know.” She tells Kagerou.

“I might take the parenting thing seriously. If this all blows over, I…might drop the hero stuff.” Volt told Kagerou “It eats up a lot of my time, and I have to help Hazel grow up.” She says.

“Plus…there is no assurance that we’re going to make it out sometimes.” She tells Kagerou. “I rather not make Hazel go through the same pain again.”

“Soudesu…” Kagerou said, she was slightly disheartened, but she continued calibrating. “…These are going to be your last missions then…” She thought aloud.

“…In that case, let’s have a farewell party after all of this. I think Merlin would agree, after all you’re the most active.” Kagerou told Volt.

“And we can also invite Hazel! Maybe that’s how you can reveal to her hihi.” Kagerou said, she finished her calibrations. She aimed the hand laser, readying to go at a circle pattern. She looked at Volt first.

“…Here goes nothing.” She says, then she attempted to cut through the wood with her calibrated beam.

Volt was quite surprised by the statement, but she nodded. A party? That would be nice…Before she got to speak, Kagerou had fired off the laser.

[ Rolled D6 : Kagerou 4 vs Wood’s 3, the closer the better ]

Kagerou attempted to try to use her new hand laser to some success, the beam had cut right through the wood and the air above it. Volt waited for Kagerou to finish before listening in. Her tone changing.

“Think they noticed?” She asked, the reply seemed to be silence. They looked to be safe, for now.

“I guess that answers that.” She mentioned, then getting up. She reached out to the edge of the circle and pulled herself up.

Kagerou followed Volt, then getting up onto the pier. They should be, if the reports are correct, right behind the enemy lines. Since no one had noticed such a thing, she decided to use her enhanced visors to scan the location for enemies.

“Do you see anyone Volchu?” She whispered, scanning around.

“I told you not to call me Volchu. Not while we’re on a mission.” She reminded, keeping an eye out as well. Luckily for Kagerou, with her advanced visors, she spots most of them hanging out inside the carnival area. They must have expected them to come from the front and did not expect two superheroes sneaking around the back.

“See anyone?” Volt asked Kagerou.

“All of them are at the Carnival Tents. Most posted around there.” Kagerou said, normalizing her visor. She looked to Volt.

“Should be a piece of cake.” She muses, almost smiling under her mask.

Volt looked back and couldn’t help but smile too. Not everyday do they get a situation where they can sneak in and defeat the bad guys without causing too much a problem, well save the hole in the pier right now.

“In that case, lets go.” She told Kagerou. Then getting closer to the bad guys who, now that she could see them, had their eyes tunneled to the entrance of the pier where the police are posted.

Three, or if it was Kagerou five, had taken positions overlooking the pier and its parking lot. There were a further two handling what looked like 2 or so tied up hostages. Almost all had automatic weapons. A slight problem,

Well to the villains at least. Volt grinned as she pulled out some coins from her pocket. She looked to Kagerou.

“I get the guns, you go do your thing?” Volt asked her.

The thread went by in a blur after Volt had stuck some magnetic coins on the gun and pulled them away from the criminals. Sarah seemed to be having fun as she constantly messaged what insane looking stunt she was going to have Kagerou do to take out the next bad guy.

| Sarararah2000: Maybe I can carry him up in the air, toss him, scare the living Jesus out of him, then catch him as he is about to touch the ground. Then make him roll infront of Volt who could shock him like his other buddies!

Victoria had already pre-rolled what would occur and although Sarah’s luck was bad the last 5 rolls it felt wrong failing her when she wrote replies with such enthusiasm. Victoria chuckled at the thought, then she noticed that the sun was setting. They had spent quite some time beating up goons in a single thread. It was getting late.

| VTesla26: Just go with whatever haha. I’ll wait for your reply and follow through with it. Though, Kagerou tossing Volt at them would sound pretty cool. |

And probably deadly, considering that it could result in the girl flying into a pillar or worse, into the ocean. But well, if she was going to always succeed then it didn’t really matter if she took into account the bad result. She figured Sarah was typing since she was making her reply, then suddenly a message popped up. She thought it was from Sarah, but she isn’t so lucky.

Victoria ignored the messages soon after, she then checked on the thread. One second there was nothing, then after a refresh quite the reply.

Kagerou looked to last guy who was making one last attempt on the two heroes. Kagerou watched as he brandished a knife and charged at them. His buddies were knocked out cold by either her or Volchu, so he was either really brave or really scared. It seemed the heroes’ job to at least subdue him.

“Hey, heads up Miss Electric!” Kagerou shouted, then she attempted to toss Volt at him. She grabbed her by the arm and threw as much as she could. “Go for the flying kick!”

Victoria smiled. She was typing the response but then another ping. She rolled her eyes and checked, it wasn’t Wolf.
