"We better start heading home. I have work tomorrow. " Kam looked at his watch as he finished the last pearl from his drink.
We were already making our way back to the train station at that point. Even though it was night, the city streets were still busy. There were buskers playing instruments or singing songs all along the main street and bystanders enjoying the free entertainment.
"Did you park at the station?" I asked.
"At Sunshine, and you?"
Sunshine train station is about 20 minutes out from Melbourne Central train station.
"I got the bus today."
"I'll give you a ride home from the station," Kam offered. "Unless you want to stay over at mine?"
"I don't put out on a first date, Kam," I joked.
"Hey now, what kind of man do you take me for?” He raised both hands defensively while smirking. "I just thought we could have a nice night in, maybe watch some Netflix and Chill?"
"You don't even have Netflix."
"Then we could find something else to do," he pursued. Kam had a saucy look on his face.
As we reached the station I responded, "Maybe I'll get a taxi from the station."
"Okay, okay, I was joking. Let me drive you home."
I have my own car, but I live at home with my parents and my sister. She is a dancer and has concerts on from time to time. I usually let her borrow my car to get to the theatres. Tonight happened to be one of the nights she had a show on.
"谢谢 (xie xie)," I thanked him.
"You are so sexy."
Anyone who has ever had a crush on someone will know how I felt at that moment. The feeling that you get when the person you like compliments you. The feeling of being someone special. It's that feeling that makes you warm and fuzzy inside. Maybe even a little hot and excited?
