A few minutes later, the bell rang signalling us to line up at the assembly. I stood behind Jodine but I saw a shadow hiding behind the wall. My eyes narrowed as I thought of who could that be. I turned my head back and focused on the national anthem playing as I thought of who could be following Jodine.
Someone gave a light push,
"Aamna! Move!" I glared at the rude person before moving forward with big steps. I looked around but the shadow was nowhere to be found as I went past the wall. But it still gave me the creepy chills while walking past it. I could tell Jodine felt it as while because of the way her shoulder tensed.
Everyone settled into their seats. The whole day went normally and boring as usual. The last bell rang and everyone started rushing out. I waited for Jodine at her desk, she grabbed her bag and I grabbed her books. While getting out of the class, Allan walked up to me.
"You look nice with your hair down." He said with his ears turning red. I looked up at him with a sweet smile and awkwardly said thanks. Don't get me wrong. We used to be best friends but after an accident I had to cut all my ties with all the guys I knew. I turned around and grabbed Jodine's hand and dragged her out of the building.
