I think this whole situation really reflects how people, especially men, aren't taught to recognize our own feelings. That is to say, if you care this much about how someone else feels, and if it bothers you this much to hurt them...if it hurts you this much to be away from them, and you find yourself willing to go above and beyond to try and be with them or make them feel better or even just to understand them better... Like, surprise! That's love. You already love them. You just have to realize that that's what all these things you're feeling add up to.
