I wasn't fond of Jason being able to push me around like I was a kid again. I had grown soft after the drugs and his "love". I needed to get back into hardening my mind and body again. Sundays the gym was empty as Rune declared it a home day or the day off. it honestly made sense to me though, the family was deeply important in the mafia. Throwing on some shorts and a long sleeve I jogged down to the gym.
It was empty like I thought it would be.
I took my shoes off and went inside the boxing ring and sat down. Clearing my mind of the troubling things. Breathing slowly I found my calm place. The fight zone. I stood up and began to practice my drawbacks for punching or fist fighting. Once my arms started to ache I moved on to kicking the hanging kick bag.
Pain bloomed in my chest. The spot around where I was shot was very tender. The aching was pretty annoying. I wasn't the first time the spot had ached either. The doctor said it would ache randomly for a while. Taking a deep breath I tried to ignore the feeling. The pain just seemed to be getting worse. My shoulder pained deeply and I felt so wrong. I went to the bathroom the looked over at my shoulder. Pulling up my shirt I found my shoulder was bruised and looked like internal bleeding. Wobbling up the stairs from the basement I went in search of Jason. It felt like I was drunk but I knew I wasn't. This was the shock kicking in. Trying to breathe slowly I found Aaron who was Runes weapons man, he saw me and no doubt knew something was wrong.
"Ghost dude you look rough."
"I...I need..ed. Jas..Jason."
I leaned over vomited my breakfast onto the floor. Aaron was yelling into his phone when I stopped vomiting. I felt clammy and from the look of my hands, I was pale. I felt Aaron's hands on my wrist. He told someone on the phone my pulse was going crazy. There was a lot of footsteps heard, then voices. But I wasn't really looking at them because I was hunched over trying to calm myself down. Breathing was becoming difficult because my body was freaking out over the internal bleeding.
I heard Jason's voice then I smelt his body spray. He quickly knew it was shock and called for the doctor. He was ordering a bunch of guys to do a bunch of things. I found myself wrapped in a blanket to stay warm and my feet and legs were elevated.
"You're going to be okay kid."
Looking at Jason I tried to tell him.
"Inter...nal Ble..bleeding."
"Internal bleeding? Where ghost?"
"Should...Shoulder."
"The bullet wound."
I shook my head. He ripped my shirt down the front and looked at the spot.
"Someone call the doc, tell him to prepare for surgery."
Jason felt around my shoulder, he gave a hard push on something and I let out a scream of pain. He grabbed his phone and screamed for someone to bring him a metal detector. I began to laugh, what the hell did he need a metal detector for?
