VTesla26 (7:29 PM)
“Ah.” Volt didn’t expect Kagerou to walk away, she decided to follow at least until the hallway.
“Kagerou.” She called out to her friend.
Victoria had hoped Kagerou would reply, that Sarah would follow. A lot of this hinges on Kagerou right now, a lot of Volt hinged on what Kagerou would do. Just like how it always had been since the start of the RP, when the first the two met.

Kagerou froze and turned around, she looked at Volt who stood by the door.
“Y-yes?” She replied.
Victoria sighed in relief.

Volt was glad she stopped, she looked at Kagerou then back to Hazel. She didn’t want to go away from her sleeping daughter, but she knows when her friend was at least scared slightly. After all, she was stuttering. She never does that when she’s not scared…or embarrassed.
It didn’t feel right to leave it at that, without some answers for Kagerou.
“I…” She looked at Kagerou “…Come with me.” She asked her old friend.
“…I want to talk to you about something.”

Kagerou paused, surprised at the offer. What had taken Volt? She was curious, and a bit scared, but mostly curious. She decided walk towards Volt, following her.

Volt decided to lead her back into the small apartment room, though she gestured towards the window which connected to the fire escape. The two passed by the sleeping Hazel and Volt silently opened the window. From there she gestured Kagerou to step onto the platform like she had done.
When the two were on, Volt looked at the view of her apartment. Nothing spectacular really, a floor too low for a proper view, but Volt didn’t seem to mind. She leaned on the railing and took a deep breath, the façade fell off and a deeply troubled face emerged.
“…Kagerou, you trust me right?” She asked her friend. “You…think I’m a hero right?”

That was a very odd question. She stood by Volt and looked to her when she posed such a weird question out of the blue. Was it related to the coat maybe?
“I do trust you Volchu.” She reassured “And I do think you’re a hero. You’ve been helping everyone in LA, you’ve been fighting the bad guys as Miss Electric.” She told Volt. She then wondered.
“Why are you asking these?” She asked her friend.

“…” Volt was a bit silent, the memories behind that coat was…painful to say the least. She looked at Kagerou, one more test.
“…What if…well suddenly I had…” She paused, then she looked away. Back to her ‘view’.
“…What if I told you that…I had killed before? Would you still call me a hero?” She asked Kagerou.

Killed? Volt didn’t seem the type to kill, or so Kagerou believed. Yet she posed the question in a manner that made her a bit curious and a bit worried.
“I…I mean it could have been a bad guy right?” She told Volt “Accidents do happen, yah? It’s not so easy with our jobs after all.”

“…They weren’t bad guys, all of them weren’t.” She replied “They were all innocent...And my power killed them all.” She took a deep breath.
“…Kagerou…what if I told you…that my powers have killed…over a thousand people?” She asked Kagerou “That…I had killed people?”
“Would you still call me a hero?”

Kagerou paused, a bit startled by the reveal. Volt had killed people? And several. It was against the code of being a hero, it was against the ideal yes. She would be a villain technically.
But something didn’t add up.
“You didn’t intend them to die right Volchu?” She asked her friend. “You didn’t do that on purpose?”

“…I didn’t.” Volt told Kagerou.
“But after that event…I believed for a time that I did. That…maybe deep inside I wasn’t meant to be a hero…” Volt added.
“That…I was to be a monster…That I should be hunted down.” Volt frowned.
Victoria double checked to see what she inputted was right, what she and Jake discussed was shown in the reply. Everything seemed right, but for some reason there was this lingering feeling on her now. Victoria eventually sent the reply but she felt rather uneasy about the words she made Volt say. She couldn’t keep a straight face as she looked at what Volt had told Kagerou, her expression looked uneasy.
Eventually she heard the eventual ping for a reply but she didn’t look at the thread. She brought up the chat message to get her mind off the thread.
VTesla26: Hey Jake. I started on the backstory.
Jake41ification: I noticed, was watching the thread as well. I feel sorry for her actually.
VTesla26: Sorry for her? What do you mean?
Jake41ification: We’re going to turn her into a villain, yet by the sounds of it she doesn’t want that to happen to her.
VTesla26: Really?
Jake41ification: Yep. Sounds like she doesn’t want it at all, and I get why.
An unsettling emotion started to make itself known within Victoria but she shook it off. They had a reason, and that was because they needed this for the story. She had some justification for what she is going to do, which dulled it slightly.
VTesla26: Still, we need this for the betrayals. We need her to be a villain for the story.
There was some pause before Jake’s reply, the silence allowed her to think. On one hand she had the duty of making a villain character out of Volt, she had to be a villain. But on the other there was this lingering feeling that she hasn’t felt before, one that emerged when thinking on the future of Volt after the plans.
She could imagine it. Volt turns into a villain or is most likely forced into it. She fights the superheroes when the time arises, she’ll be fighting Maeve, Adi, and Kagerou…For some reason Victoria found it hard to imagine that. She thought about the possible future further, then a young brown haired girl came to mind.
And what would happen to Hazel? Victoria could have Volt take Hazel but what would the little girl think if she realizes her adoptive mother was a villain who killed? Could Volt even find the courage to face her if she went down that route?
Would she even be able to face them…?
Ping.
Jake41ification: You have a point. But let me consult with Aquilla first before we do something drastic. Hold back on getting the villain stuff done today.
The words had some reassurance in them for some reason.
VTesla26: Alright. Should I continue with Kagerou’s thread?
Jake41ification: Yah, go. Every bit of story released helps.
Victoria decided to go back to the thread, she took a deep breath as she read through Sarah’s reply.
Sarararah2000 (7:39 PM)
People thought of her as a monster? That would explain the demeanor she had at the start. Though what was the extent of the incident she wondered, that would leave many casualties…
She remembered the coat, the winter coat that came from NYC but she didn’t want to assume.
“Volchu…If you want to talk about it we can. Because this looks to be bugging you…” Kagerou offered. There was that haunting feeling in Volchu’s tone that suggested such.

Where to start…
VTesla26 (7: 50 PM)
Volt looked to Kagerou who offered an ear, the same ear that listened to Volt’s frustrations and negative musings when they first started. The same ear that beared with Volt and all the troubles she went through at first. Volt paused to decide, to think whether or not she should tell her friend.
Then again…she did show a certain amount of trust in her even when she revealed her past…
“…I lived in New York three years ago. Grew there, enjoyed my life there. My dad was a police officer, mom was busy as a paramedic. It was…relatively normal life. Dad rubbed off on me, and I wanted to be like him.” Volt looked down at her hands.
“…Then one day…I had powers. Like a switch it just, turned on one day.” Volt told Kagerou.
“The coolest moment of my life I used to think. I figured maybe like the superheroes in the comic books I could help the people of New York. Against my father’s advice I tried.” Volt looked down.
“...I regret my choice. Robbery incident at an apartment square, near Warrengate. Traffic was bad given it was winter. I figured I could take it on with power, it was a walk away anyway. My first superhero job, went so wrong so fast.” Volt said, reminiscing the memories of where it all went wrong.
“I was cocky, bright eyed, enthusiastic. That all changed in a blink. At one time I was demanding they step down, another trying to scare them off with the electric powers…I tried…” Volt took a deep breath.
“…Shot here, on the shoulder.” She pointed to her shoulder “Then I just…snapped. I…don’t remember much, but when I came to all the lights were out and…” Volt remembered, what she saw after…
“…I…killed those I tried to save…”

Victoria double checked again on the collated information they had for Volt. She looked through it, then that same feeling she felt earlier reemerged as she read through it. Seeing no fault and wanting to get it over with she sent the reply. She decided to breathe. She looked outside and saw that the sun had finally set and the streets were dark, night had arrived. She should head back home but she worried if Kagerou would reply in a shocked way and call Volt a monster. Or Sarah calling Victoria out for…
Why was she worrying about these again? She was going to make Volt evil. Kagerou doing that would make it easier but…it felt somehow wrong to think such. It felt like she was trespassing or infringing on something…
She shook it off and turned back to the laptop. She read through the text again just to get her mind off it but it was agitating the feeling even further. Victoria paused and she thought about it, but then a ping came along to distract her.
Sarararah2000 (7:52 PM)
It didn’t need a whole lot to piece two and two together. Lighting powers going haywire at the heat of the moment? It sounded like a recipe for disaster. Volchu made a mistake and other people paid for it, but there was more to the tale wasn’t there?
“Volchu…what happened after?” She asked, remembering the jacket again and what she said about her father being NYPD. Could it possibly…?

Volt was silent for some time. She thought about stopping here, but she was already this far in telling her story. There wasn’t a hint of anger or outrage from Kagerou thus far, she seemed considerate enough. Volt took a deep breath.
“…My powers did far worse that kill the two. My electric powers caused a power surge throughout the city…It…burned most of the electrical wiring. That night…the whole city was dark.” Volt mentioned.
“My father tried to look for me and he…helped me leave. Asked me to leave before I hurt anymore. The city was in chaos as everyone was cold in the winter…”
“It…got worse as I left…I heard a blizzard hit the city…Stayed in Brooklyn for a bit with my cousin at my dad’s request. People were flooding the bridge leaving New York, they were calling the thing that caused the electrical shortage a disaster, a calamity.
…Then the rumor spread of it being caused by this ‘freak’ or ‘monster’. One that wanted to see the city die…A monster…” Volt looked down.
“…I decided to leave for good. Ran away from home, never turned back since. Hitch hiked my way to the other side of the country…Rumors still spread though. The incident was making news and conspiracies were tossed around. The death toll rose…”
Writing the backstory felt second nature, though the more she wrote and revealed the more Victoria felt rather uneasy. She didn’t like where this was going. It didn’t feel right anymore, she didn’t know why it didn’t feel right. She was just a character, and they needed that character for something else. They needed her to be a villain and doing this was the way.
But…
Ping.
Sarararah2000 (8:06 PM)
“I…” Kagerou was stunned to hear that she caused such a disaster, to cause such a problem to a city. She heard it in the news maybe, or in passing mention, but she didn’t expect it to be caused by a single person.
“…What happened after that?” Kagerou asked one last time.
“Before you came here?”

“…Stayed in different states at a time, hid in abandoned locations or in the wilderness. Tried to get by day to day far out from the city until I had to move because of the land owners.” She told Kagerou.
“Would move closer and closer to the west coast when news of my presence was heard. I attracted…some unwanted attention, had to fend for myself a couple times. Had to hide the patches when they started to report on a trespassing lady with a police jacket…”
“Was in the woods of California that I settled in, no one to disturb me but the wilderness. Found a nice cave away from prying eyes.
Stole stuff from campers to help myself. Learned how to use coins to kill prey.” Volt added.
“Started to make a name for myself…Lobo some people called me, others thought I was the sasquatch. The rest, you know since you gone through the same thing.
Merlin approached and made me an offer, said he has been watching me since the incident. Offered a chance to use my powers for good.
I guess that little bit of old Volt still lingered within me…
Still wanting to be the hero even after that mess...”
Victoria at the reply she was about to say. It was in line with Volt to say such things, to still be hopeful, but…to infringe on it soon. To have a plan to destroy what Volt had built up without her knowing…
She didn’t send the reply, and didn’t for a while. That was until she heard a ping.
She checked her chatbox.
TheGreatWolf99: Thread’s up. I’ll send a link.
Has it been an hour? Victoria wondered, she looked at the time and noted that it was exactly on the hour. Something made her very uneasy, she decided to reply.
VTesla26: I have a thread with Kagerou right now. Can this wait? We’re both busy.
Pause, silence, then another ping.
TheGreatWolf99: Drop your thread and come. Now.
The link soon followed, Victoria felt very uneasy about this. What was he planning to do? She didn’t know, and in her unease she decided to send the reply and check on the thread.
