A feeling of lightheadedness overtook Jutte as she opened her eyes. Laying in her bed, she felt herself growing weaker. She felt immense pain in her forehead, throat, and abdomen. At times, the pain subsided, only to flare up once more, increasing in intensity. Jutte did her best to not scream in pain.
“Dammit… I cannot be sick, not today…” Jutte muttered to herself as she coughed up a storm.
Jutte forced herself out of bed, her legs felt as though they would give way at any moment. Still, Jutte pushed forward. An illness would not stop her today. She took a moment to look at the map of the land, however.
“Movements from them are still sporadic and out of the ordinary… They are most definitely working to encircle us soon…” Jutte said to herself.
Jutte sneezed violently, however, she continued to move forward, coming closer to losing consciousness with every step. Jutte took a moment to gather her thoughts, however, this proved to be a challenge. Jutte gritted her teeth and continued onwards, she was determined to get to Silja and Eloisa, whatever help that would give.
Suddenly, the door to Jutte’s room swings open, hitting the wall with a sickening crack that would strike fear into any person. A person stood in the doorframe, Jutte almost immediately recognized it as Eloisa.
“Ah, I was wondering when you would show up, I was about to go out looking for you,” Jutte said, laughing weakly.
Eloisa picked Jutte up and walked back to Jutte’s bed, “Sleep,” Eloisa said, as she nearly threw Jutte back onto her bed and wrapped her up in multiple layers of blankets. Jutte was too weakened to resist.
Eloisa sighed, “Jutte… Why are you always attempting to do such things… Attempting to still work while you are obviously sick…”
Jutte recoiled, “How did you know I was sick?”
“Your face is red, you slept in, and I heard your coughing and sneezing from the building three doors over,” Eloisa responded.
Jutte covered her face, hiding her reddened face, “I am not sick! I promise you!” Jutte shouted.
“There is a fairly simple way to confirm thisー” Eloisa said, “Show me your face,” Eloisa added, trying to pry Jutte’s hands from her face.
“I do not want to, there is nothing to prove, I am not sick!” Jutte said, weaker than the last time.
“Your voice is getting weaker, take a good long rest.” Eloisa said, “I will get Yūki and Maiko to take care of you.”
“Not sick…” Jutte muttered under her breath.
“Oh, be quiet, you! I know you want to see Yūki and Maiko. You are truly attached to them.” Eloisa responded confidently.
Jutte saw the edges of her vision start to darken, she did not hear the last part of Eloisa’s sentence. Jutte’s vision went completely black, and her body went limp.
