“Xaria!” Zebadiah exclaimed the minute the doors closed. He picked her up in a huge bear hug and spun her around. Xaria giggled. She always loved Zeb’s positivity and endless supply of energy.
“Put me down!”
Zebadiah didn’t listen and continued to spin her around. She continued to laugh and snort, arms trapped in his hug, unable and unwilling to push him away.
“Guys, please,” Delios sighed, cheeks red with second hand embarrassment, “You both are acting like children.”
Zebadiah coked his head to the side and gently set Xaria back on the ground.
“What’s the matter little bro?” He asked, going over to Delios and placing his arm around his shoulder. “Jealous?”
Delios scoffed and tried to push Zeb away.
“As if,” he retorted, walking away. Zebadiah caught up with him and pulled him back into a side hug.
“Oh little bro, there’s no need to be mad,” Zebadiah cooed, “There’s plenty of me to go around.”
Delios rolled his eyes and a hint of a smile ghosted across his lips.
“There it is!” Zeb shouted, “There’s the famous Delios smile I’ve been waiting for!”
Delios shook his head and huffed, his smile growing a tad wider.
“Your absurdity amuses me,” he said, pushing Zeb away for good this time.
Zebadiah bowed.
“It is my honor to entertain you.”
Now it was Xaria’s turn to roll her eyes.
“Drama queen,” she sighed.
“Always,” Zeb winked.
“Anyways,” Xaria started, steering the conversation away from Zebadiah, “I am so excited to finally bless a couple! It’s been so long since I’ve been to Earth, I can’t wait to see it in person! I know it’s so different now with all the advancements in technology, fashion, courtship, practically everything is different and new!”
Zebadiah smiled.
“I’m very glad you’re happy Xaria. It’s a shame you couldn't choose the couple though,” he remarked, “I could tell you were disappointed.”
She shrugged.
“Yeah, I was kind of disappointed. But it’s okay. Let’s look on the brightside. I’m going to Earth, which I haven’t been to in decades. No matter what, I’ll have fun.” She hoped by saying it outloud it would make her believe it. She was very grateful to be given the chance to leave Adonia, but she had been watching Ernest and Amelia dance around the possibility of a relationship for 3 years now. She had seen their feelings of friendship blossom into something more, but neither of them was willing to take a chance and ask the other out. If they got rejected, or worse, their relationship ended on bad terms, they would lose each other forever. They would rather suffer together than take any chance at being apart.
“It’s just, there’s these two people, Amelia and Ernest, and they’re absolutely perfect for one another, but they’re both too scared to make a move. I know nothing will happen if I leave it up to them, and I’d only need 30 minutes to set a plan in motion, it’d just...ugh, it would be so perfect!”
“Where do they live?” Zebadiah asked.
“They live in New York. Not in New York City, probably just an hour north of it...why?”
Delios and Zebadiah shot each other a look.
“What? Why are you guys looking at eachother like that?”
Zeb shrugged, still looking at Delios.
“What Erasmus doesn’t know won’t hurt him,” he said.
“What if he finds out?” Delios replied.
“He won’t.”
“Are you sure?”
“Positive.”
“What are you guys talking about?” Xaria shouted, tired of being left out of the conversation.
Delios shrugged, and nodded over at Zeb.
“It’s your idea. You tell her.”
Zebadiah nodded and took a breath.
“The couple you are assigned to bless is about an hour north of New York City.”
Xaria gasped, suddenly understanding.
“So I go, bless them, and afterwards, I decide to go sightseeing for a bit, setup Ernest and Amelia, and no one suspects a thing.”
“Exactly,” Zeb replied.
“I’m in,” Xaria said. It was time to live a little.
