Azukaia (Red Midnight)
The lion roared, but before he can make it louder, I hurled my daggers again alternatively at different vital and acupuncture points. With this LuHao's string, it makes the throwing easier since I can control them even at flight, and also it returns to me. Though because the string hasn't yet levelled, there are times it will break but reconnect again, thanks to my reflexes.
Several digits appeared above the lion's head.
-50......-83......-150......-201
I'm quite aware that the longer I attack continuously without someone or something intercepting, the higher attack damage I can inflict. Since I was attacking alternatively from long-range to short-range, I was giving the lion no chance to respond because it's the matter of seconds that I can die if I do a single mistake. I'm at level one, this beast is at level two.
After a few moments of injuring and slashing at the lion, I hurled both of my daggers around his body, causing him to be tangled in the string. I ordered for it to grow longer, so I can torture the lion more. It was clearly choking and tangling itself, since the lion knows the daggers are hidden somewhere behind those strings. I almost laughed.
I'm literally squeezing him to death while he thrashes his claws around, but every time he does that, it's either the daggers will attack him or my strings dodge his attack. I admit he's strong, since he's a level higher but so what? He can't even see me. It's a good thing this is a forest area, and of course there's a lot of trees and I jump at each of them from time to time to hide from the lion's field of vision.
As I finally released him from the grip of the strings, I hurled my daggers at him alternatively and continuously, at the different parts of its body. He dodged some of them, but unfortunately he cannot escape from my eyes. As I read his movements, I can predict how his reflexes would lead him.
Since a lion specializes in strength and direct combat, so this creature's unfortunate to cross paths with me.
Actually I was expecting that I would hunt beasts that are the same level as me, but I'm too lazy to go further.

The lion roared as it fell to the ground, then evaporated into thin air. What?
I guess that is the thing that happens when a beast dies. Well, I really don't care.
As I walked over to the spot where the lion vanished a few seconds ago, I saw some items that dropped. I bent down to examine it.

I checked my inventory and inspected the properties of each item.
Chains of Solitude
-Owned previously by The Minister of Silence, obvious to the symbol within its clasper. Looks like an ordinary metal wrist bracelet but is secretly made from the most invincible substance in the Lejekotarrah. The right one has the legendary azure core, while the left one has the legendary ruby core. The two symbolizes the balance between calmness and rage, as well as purity and impurity, like water and blood. Chains sprout from it and acts as The Arbiter, and whoever owns this will be the Harbinger of Justice and Death.

What the fudge is this saying? So it has similar use like the LuHao's string, only stronger and mysterious? I don't understand this world at all.
I took the Chains of Solitude from the inventory and clasp the two metal bracelets at both of my wrist.
Clink!
I was about to check the second item but was taken aback when I saw a glow in my arms. What the heck?
As the glow disappeared, the coiling LuHao's string in my arms vanished. I noticed a sudden change at the Chains of Solitude, though. A few features was added and it looks like as if someone has forged vine-like designs in the metal bracelet.
Ting!
Not this again.
System notice: You have merged the Chains of Solitude with the LuHao's string.
Ting!
System Notification: You have successfully accomplished the secret task of Ira, the seller of the LuHao's string. Reward: 3 silver.
.....What? Secret task? Oh well. Remind myself to confront that NPC later when I get back. But at least, I gained many profits.
I inspected the Chains of Solitude and its constructed designs. It looks ancient but steel–ly. You get my point? I willed for it to wield chains, and thus the chains suddenly burst out.
As I stared at the chains and test it for a few times, and noticed that it has the same midnight black glow like my LuHao's string. Also, it can be lengthened and shortened, which is great. Not only it merged with its properties, I can also be doubt less about the chain being snapped into two. Well, I can discover more of its capabilities if I use it in a fight or something.
Child Dagger
-Previously owned by the Blood Ostar of Lonrietta. The Child dagger lives up to its name and is dedicated to the twin daughters of Ostar. People including Ostar believed that his children's spirits went to the two blades as assurance for their father. Therefore when the daggers are thrown or dropped, it will reappear on the owner's hands. The seal on each dagger represents one of the twins.

Okay. What in the world is with me today? I checked my stats again.

I attached the two daggers at the 'maybe special magnet' of the Chains of Solitude (metal bracelet) surprisingly. I never thought that it has something like that of a feature. The 'magnetic part' is in the side of the bracelets and it attracts the main blade of the Child Dagger so if I grab it, my hand would automatically hold the handle. Well, since the Child Dagger will always reappear in my hands if I need them so I don't really have to worry much about it. I sheathed my old daggers in one of the straps in my legs. Since an assassin must be always ready and have lots of weapons, I should fill the sheaths in the straps with light but useful weapons. Well, I'll do that later in the village after I grind some mobs and gain levels. Since luck is with me today, I would go for it. I could also test my new weapons on my 'victims'.
I sighed as I go deeper in the forest.
