Azukaia (Red Midnight)
"What?" With venom those words came out from my mouth.
The NPC however, since it's a programmed being took no heed of my angered state.
"Yes, a player can only accept missions if they're from a guild. However, since you're not, you can only do quests than can be triggered whenever you're grinding mobs or such."
Psh.
I immediately went out of the mission house.
Since my hood is down, no one can see my face. And even though i turned off the visual effects of my equipments, I guess it still screams 'i am not a beginner'. I also suppress my aura. Since I'm a thief class, it would be helpful if my presence isn't exposed.
I continued walking to explore the village and probably the whole city and the neighboring ones, too. Since I'm too hooked up with levelling i didn't have much time mapping cities and villages. Meh.
I'm gonna need this because i plan purchasing properties. If i predict it right, since Rise of Legends Online is just a recently released game players -ehem- i mean normal players can only reach at least up to level four---considering that this game has only been released five days ago. Well, I'm not an ordinary player. As you can see.
Since this is a virtual reality game resulting the player to move at its own accord inside the game, you can sat that i compare this to me dominating a contest in real life.
I always find a way to reach the top quickly. That's an essence of being a Kawahara.
It also sucks that a dungeon will open after two more days.
Well, i have no need to rush.
I focused on levelling a lot because after two weeks, a player will gain mana limitation. Which means I'll be needing cooldowns and a string of patience. For every player, the first two weeks they'll be able to use their skill limitlessly, and their items as well. That two weeks gives you the chance to build a strong foundation as a player.
Oh well.
Ting! System Notification: Azure Phoenix wishes to have a duel with you.
[Accept] [Decline]
What. I turned around and saw who dared to challenge me.
Oh, wait. In here, you can't PK a player without asking for a duel.
If you don't, depending on how many players you killed, your name will be branded red.
And of course while you're branded as PKer, anyone who kills you will gain a level while you will lose one.
And yeah, your name will appear white again.
Besides, army NPCs will also attack you if they see you.
But as for me, since my influence in this continent is at least 35 and above, I won't need to bother with those NPCs. Instead, they will guard me and make sure i won't be killed by players.
Hah, as if they can kill me.
And how do i know this?
Secret quests.
Oh well. I selected 'Accept' and faced the guy who dared to challenge me.
"My, aren't you brave."
"You look tough. I also want to test my strength,"
"Oh? So I'm your punching bag now?"
"That's not what I meant!"
"Yeah, sure." I waved him off, to get with the battle done already.
I do not know him. I don't think I've seen his face in real life etheir. He looks older than me, probably 5 years older.
Elven race, warrior class.
I don't know his level since his status is private.
Well, mine is on private too.
"Start."
I activated stealth and chose my Child Daggers as weapon, in my hand. Of course, the L1 poison i got is coated with it.
Seemingly disturbed that he can't see me because of his Awareness which isn't high enough to detect a high level Thief like me with an activated stealth.
I crept behind him slowly, to not blow my location away. He's still looking for me, and I can sense that he's nervous. Good.
Aiming for a vital point in his nape, i used my skills.
Critical hit!
Continuous Strike!
Vampirism!
With large health deduction digits appearing above his head, he fell down, dead and poofed---he dissapeared. Well, he'll be at his rebirth point right now.
Ting! System Notification: Red Midnight won the duel. Reward is 5 coppers.
It's not even worth that much.
Right after i killed him, i deactivated my stealth and appeared with all my glory. The surrounding players were all gaping at me, and maybe also the fact that the battle didn't even lasted ten minutes.
Oh well. I'm gonna purchase properties.
****
I went to the cityhall of Aridia---the main city of the Central continent---so I can purchase lands in the city.
Well, what I'm planning is to build foundations before i lay out my steps to game domination---and one of them is purchasing lands.
One of the reasons why i kept grinding mobs for the past days is for the money it drops as they die.
And maybe, since I'm the richest player (virtually), i might as well spend this money to invest.
I entered the building and went straight to the estates office where the guarding NPC had directed me to.
As I opened the door after knocking and hearing a "come in," I saw a man in his early thirties. Well technically he's an NPC.
"May I help you?"
"I'd like to purchase a few estates in this city,"
"Very well."
The NPC, whose name is Darion, showed me a map of the entire city with its lands marked and divided, showing the available ones---well, not like someone had purchased yet.
I pointed to a huge property in the middle of the city. It's located also in an intersection, and it's a perfect location for business. Because all players pass through the area and since it's large, you get the point.
"How much is this property?"
"600 copper."
Hmm. Almost one gold.
"I'd like to make the transaction."
"Very well."
After a few moments, a scroll was passed to me---the title of the property. I signed it and put the scroll in my inventory.
I also purchased a considerable large land near the village where i live.
By the way, the village where I live is next to this city.
The land i purchased is located in the middle, almost like a boundary.
I plan on building an inn and a few stores there.
For influence purposes.
I also purchased a property in the forest---the Arbitrary Forest, where i grind mobs because it's the nearest forest--- and it's the only available one.
I also purchased a property in the northern part of the city---the one that is closest to the neighboring city, the Kallun City.
So all in all I purchased four properties, on which I spent almost four gold.
