The Red Riding Hood (short story)

Part 4

Part 4

Jun 14, 2018

"Grandma?Grandma?" she knocked on the door.

After hearing footsteps, the door opened and her grandmother's face came into view, greeting her.

"Yes, dear? Oh, Mr. Levi's also here. Come in, come in,"

She entered the house, with Mr. Levi following behind.

"Grandma," she started. "Mom told me to give this to you," Lilac handed the huge basket to her grandma, who just gave her a warm smile and accepted the offering.

"Are you going to leave so soon, dear?" her grandma asked.

"Mhhmm." Lilac nodded. "So I can get there before it gets dark,"

"Okay. Be careful and tell your mother I said hi,"

"Okay!"

Lilac closed the door behind her, to eavesdrop on what Mr. Levi has to say. But knowing her grandma and her great senses might detect that she's still here, she only heard a bit of their conversation.

"...an animal escaped one of our traps near the paved road. Judging from the few fur hairs that were left in evidence, it was a wolf..."

Who says the fairytale was never real?

Lilac thought it was actually weird. The trap look like it can snap her bones into two, but oh well, the wolf's wounds look like as if it only made a gash. It's bleeding, but at least the wolf's bones didn't break.

"Mister Wolf, you're lucky your bones aren't affected. If it was, it would be too hard for me to carry you to a clinic--you're too heavy!" She innocently giggled at the said creature, which is now staring and observing her every move.

Lilac, feeling its stare, turned to look up at its golden eyes. To say it was attractive is an understatement, it was captivating. Too captivating for her.
