"Was Leon okay?" Leader James was cutting the steak on his plate into little pieces. He was sitting next to Nate who was already eating his own steak.
Cecilia had just finished telling her story about Leon being able to see her. She had already told Victor the story hundreds of times. It was to the point where he knew what words she was going to say before she said them. So as she was going on and on about how amazing it was, he was eating. Nate, however, was hanging onto every word she said.
"Leon is fine, now. His teammates took him to the hospital and the doctor healed him," Cecilia said.
"The human's medical advances are coming along nicely," James said, "remember when they would wear helmets and ram their heads into each other?"
"American football was a crazy time," Nate said. Cecilia could see Nate put his hand on James's knee.
"After all this time, it's still strange to see him like this," Cecilia said in Victor's mind.
"Like what?" Victor thought.
"Affectionate," Cecilia said.
Victor looked at Nate and then thought, "Ah, I see now. Want me to mimic?"
Cecilia chuckled but shook her head "no".
"What are you two talking about?" Nate asked, looking at Cecilia with a knowing look.
"How affectionate you two are," Cecilia said truthfully.
"Well, I would hope so after ten years of marriage," James said.
"You say that as if ten years is a lot," Cecilia said.
"It can be to humans," Nate said.
"Humans have short lives, remember," Cecilia said.
"Ten years married is a lot to a man who thought he would never get married," James said.
Cecilia could agree to that, considering she went through a similar phase. For some time, she thought she was unworthy of falling in love. It was as if the demon part of her made her rotten.
It took Victor seven years to get her to go out on an official date and then another three years to get her to marry him. They've been married for six years now but hardly acted like the traditional married couple.
James and Nate have the same house. Cecilia and Victor do not. Victor has been a Friend this whole time and lives in his child's home and only comes back for meals. Cecilia has her apartment but is hardly there.
James and Nate had their wedding pictures framed in several locations around their house. Cecilia did not have any wedding pictures with Victor. That's because they did not have a wedding. They had exchanged bands with just the two of them present. Cecilia did not want a big fancy wedding like the one her brother had.
"Anyway, Cecilia, what happened to the other boy," James asked her. The look on his face, however, said that he already knew.
"He's in the hospital, receiving mental treatment," Cecilia said. That was the term she decided to use instead of "looney bin".
"You need to fix it before the warm colors find out," James was suddenly serious. He put down his fork and knife.
"They already see you as a threat. This situation will not help," James said.
"Fine" was all Cecilia said. She put down her own utensils. She started adding coordinates in her left palm.
"Wait I didn't mean right now," James said frantically.
"Too late," Cecilia disappeared.
She found herself in a white room with a large window and in front of the window was a bed with a boy sleeping in it. He was curled up in the fetus position. Next to the boy was a goat. The goat looked and smelled as if it was rotting. It was missing an eye and Cecilia could see a few exposed ribs.
The sin of lust drove this boy to rape. It must have been with him since he was a preteen. She had seen this goat that night but could not keep herself from scaring the boy half to death.
Cecilia transformed one of her bracelets into a sword. The goat let out a shriek and tried running away but Cecilia was faster than it, and cut it's head clean off.
The sword went back to it's original state.
Cecilia then went into the boy's mind. Even though he was two years older than Leon, in his mind he was a ten year old. He had short black hair and light blue eyes. He was wearing swim trunks.
He was at a community pool, with his feet in the water. Cecilia changed her appearance, making herself a blond with blue eyes ten year old. She did this in order to not scare the boy.
"May I join you?" Cecilia said in a little girl's voice.
He turned around to look at her. He hesitantly nodded his head.
She sat down next to him and put her own feet in the water.
"I'm Joey," he said, "who are you?"
"I'm Cece," she said.
He nodded his head and continued looking at the water.
"Why are you here?" He asked.
"I want to help you," she said.
"You can't. Nobody can. I've done a very bad thing," he said, " bad, bad, bad."
Cecilia could start sensing sins inside his mind. This was how deep the goat had him. It had left imprints on his mind. Cecilia sent the spirals on her arms after them.
"You did," Cecilia then said.
"I'm going to be in time out for a long time," he said.
"Do you know why?" Cecilia asked.
"Because I hurt a girl," when he said this, he started tearing up.
"Why did you hurt that girl?" Cecilia asked him.
He looked down at his hands as he cried, "something came over me. It was as if I had no control of myself. I only had one thing on my mind, and it was her body."
Cecilia could feel her clones killing the goats one by one. Each time they did, Joey aged.
"Then I saw some kind of monster but now that I look back," he clenched his fists, "I was the monster, and she was the savior." He sighed, "I know what I did was wrong and I will do as much time as I have to in the Correction Facility and when I get out, I'll try to right my wrong, in what ever way I can."
He was now twenty two years old.
"I hope that one day that girl will find peace. I don't expect her to forgive me, hell, I don't want her to. I don't deserve it," he sighed. He looked at Cecilia, "why do I feel like a weights been lifted?"
"I've taken away all your wrongful lust," Cecilia said. Cecilia stood up and transformed back into herself. The boy looked shocked but not scared.
"It's you," he looked up at her with an open mouth.
"How is this possible?" he said.
Cecilia smiled, waved goodbye, and left his mind.
She was back in the hospital room. She put coordinates into her left palm and transported back to the dining room.
They had not even finished their steaks.
"You owe me five," Nate said to James.
"Fine," James crossed his arms and pouted.
"Nate bet James that you would be back before we finished our meals. Loser had to clean the kitchen five times," Victor said.
Cecilia looked at James, "how do you still bet against me after all these years?"
He shrugged his shoulders and looked away, still upset, "leave me alone. I'm not talking to you."
"I should be mad at you for doubting me," Cecilia smiled. Victor laughed and reached for her hand under the table.
.
Leon was sitting in the locker room, tying his cleats. The rest of the soccer team was around him getting ready but all he heard was the buzz of their chatter.
It had been a few weeks since the night of that party. The night seems like a blur now and Leon hardly remembered anything from the actual party.
He does remember one thing, however, and that's Cecilia. He had not seen her since.
"What are you doing after the game?" Charlie asked him.
Leon shrugged his shoulders.
"Well some of us are going to grab something to eat. You should come with us," Charlie said.
"Last time I went with you guys, I ended up in the hospital," Leon chuckled. The guys in the locker room stopped what they were doing and stared at him.
"What?" Leon looked around.
"Did you just make a joke?" Brain asked him,.
"Um...yes?" Leon said awkwardly.
"Damn...how hard did that guy hit your head," Branson said, "I can't believe you're making jokes now."
Reese laughed and patted Leon on the back, "ya'll should have been there in the car. Leon was talking complete nonsense."
"Was I really?" Leon asked.
"You were talking about purple tigers and what not," Reese said, "you really freaked me out, man."
"Sorry," Leon mumbled.
"All that matters now is that you're okay," Reese said with a smile.
Leon returned the smile.
"Alright boys! Let's go!" The Coach walked into the locker room. The boys around Leon started jumping up and down and chanted their war song. They did this before every game but Leon was usually already in the tunnel by this time. He looked around him and did not know what to do. Reese put his arm around Leon and Charlie did the same. All the boy's had formed a circle and started swinging side to side in sync. Leon was forced to sway with them. By the end of the chant, he started getting into it.
At the end, all the boys put their hands in the center of the center. Reese had to grab Leon's hand because Leon was just looking at them as if he was lost.
"After we all scream 'win' we run out of the tunnel," Reese told him.
"Win on three! One! Two! Three! Win!" Branson screamed.
"Win!" the rest of the boys screamed before running out of the locker room. Leon could not bring himself to scream but he did run with them. He was towards the front of the group with Reese to his right and Charlie to his left.
They ran through the tunnel and the starting eleven ran onto the field. The starting eleven was so:
(2)Stevie (8)Leon (5)Rye
(12)CJ (9)Perry
(7)Charlie
(11)Kay (9)Reese (3) Brian (21) JoJo
(1)Branson
Forwards: Stevie, Leon, Rye
Midfielders: CJ, Perry, Charlie
Defenders: Kay, Reese, Brian, JoJo
Goalkeeper: Branson
The announcer called out their names and the number on their jerseys. Leon liked his number, eight. When it was on it's side, it was the infinity symbol.
Leon could hear the crowd roaring but one sound stood out. He looked through the stands looking for one person in specific. At the very top on the right side of the stands, was a woman in all black, with purple hair tied up in a ponytail. She was calling out his name and clapping. If she did not look so unusual , he would have thought she was just another soccer fan.
He picked up his hand and started waving at her.
When she noticed this, she started waving back.
