Peter's Pizza
Quinn
It's stuffy in here. I can tell that Kenneth is asleep, by the soft snores. I can't sleep. I wonder how awkward it most feel for him. Especially because of those rumors. At least he doesn't know its true. There's screams in the distance. Bang! Bang! Bang! Bang! Bang! He jolts awake beside me. "What happened?" he asks. I shrug, and I know he feels it. "It's probably the other shops." I say. "Yeah. What other stores are open?" he asks. "Umm, I think, the grocery store, the pharmacy, the eye doctor place, and the bakery. Oh and the salon, too. The others are closed, I think." I respond. "Oh. Alright." he says. I wonder how the others are doing. Are they safe? Are they alright? Are they dead?
A and P Groceries
Ji Su
"Axel." I say. "Axel. Axel. Axel!" I shake him awake. He wakes up with a jolt and hits my forehead. "Agh!" I say, rubbing my temple. "Oh, sorry. I didn't mean to." he apologizes. "It's alright. There were more gun shots, though. Must've been near the other stores, 'cause it was faint." I say. No response. "Hey, Axel? You alright?" I ask reaching out. I touch his cheek, which is wet with tears. "Can I tell you something, Ji? Something that you can't tell anyone." he says. I nod, and tell him yes. "My mother," he starts. "My mother, she," he cries. I've never heard Axel cry before. He was always strong. He had plenty of followers in school, because of his jet black hair and icy blue eyes. Every girl fell for them. But I've always been his friend, nothing more. He weeps. And I lean over and cradle him in my arms. "Shh, it's alright. I'm here. Tell me what happened." I comfort. "My mother, she died." he cries. "It's alright, everybody dies." I say, which was stupid. "No, no. She didn't die a regular death..." he says, still crying. "She died in an act of terrorism. In Syria. While she was volunteering. They killed her, Ji. They killed her." he cries. "Y'know, you look like her. With your black hair, brown eyes, and pale skin." he whispers, touching a strand of my hair. "She was a beautiful person." He stopped crying. "And you are too." he cradles my face, and kisses me.
VCC Pharmacy
Reid
"Reid, I'm sorry." Cora says. I'm in no mood for her bull. I think there's beer here somewhere. On the counter in the back. I crawl towards the back, using my hands to guide me there. So this is how it feels like to be blind, huh? I grab the bottle and crawl back to my original place. I take a swig from it, tired physically and mentally. "What is it?" she asks. "Beer." I say, emotionless. "Can I have some?" she asks. I pass her the bottle. "Y'know this is ma first time drinkin'" she says, already drunk. "Goody two shoes," I mutter. "Well bein' a goody two sandals is better than being a jerk!" she yells, clearly drunk. Sandals? "You know, Reid. You have to come out of the wardrobe, like me." she pats my back. "It's closet, genius. And I'm not gay!" I sputter. "Gay or not, I want to come out of the open. I wanna vent my anger just like you." she says, shaking the bottle. "I think you've had enough," I say, reaching for the bottle. "Nope. This bottle is under my custody. I am its guardian. It's mine!" she shout, cradling the bottle. "Shut it. They might hear you!" I say. "Right, Right! I have to be quiet. Shhhh." she says. "I still have to tell you something. Don't tell mom and dad. Alright? Shhhh." she pushes her index finger in front of her mouth. "I'm gay." she laughs. I sigh. "Yeah, we know already. You came out years ago." I roll my eyes. She sniffles. My god, this woman. What the hell is wrong with this woman. Getting drunk off the first sip and drinking all of it? The nerve. "Hey, Reid. Can I tell you something?" Cora sniffles. "Sure, go ahead." I say sarcastically. She looks at me with big eyes. "I have cancer, with no cure."
Security
Trey
"So what's the plan, team?" Wren whispers. We were gathered around a table, planning for our attack plan. "So, 911 isn't an option, because there's no wifi and all the lines are down because of the storm outside. How convenient. We're in total isolation. It's like we're in a novel where the author is trying to make our lives harder by adding all of these obstacles. (A/N: Hehehehe) We have a madman with a gun on the loose with at least thirty hostages, some of whom might be dead. No one will know that they are missing, since I am guessing that their shifts do not end soon. Ray's shift ends at one am. Madman, or MM, must have cut out the power, or the storm outside did. Am I missing anything?" Naya says. We shake our heads. "We should clear out the hostages, first and then go in for the kill." she instructs. "The closest store to us is the eye doctor place. Then we'll go to the bakery which is in the middle of the mall. And then to the grocery store, which is near the entrance to the mall. We then go upstairs and then go to the pharmacy, spa, and the pizza place. If we encounter MM during our mission, then we try to stop him. Don't kill him, but immobilize him. Use your gun and aim at the foot or arm. If necessary, then go and put a bullet near an important organ." Naya nods, looking up to face us. "Tonight, we fight"
