Saffy walks down the halls with a smirk on her face. She waves at the passing teachers and other students happily as she makes her way down the hall. Unbeknownst to her, a slinky figure walks behind her following in step with a twisted grin on his face as he moves along seemingly invisible to the other students.
“Alright, now I just have to find those papers and then get back to class.” She says seriously opening a closet door.
Inside various supplies and papers line the shelves as Saffy enters looking around for a particular stack of papers. “They should be back here.”
She worms her way into the back of the closet as the figure enters behind her. As the pair slowly enter, she bumps her head against something above her as several books start to fall from above.
“Hold on!” A voice rings out.
Saffy closes her eyes waiting from the impact only for her to feel nothing.
“Are you okay?”
Saffy opens her eyes and sees a boy standing over her with a pained expression on his face. “Hey.”
“Are you okay?” She asks concerned.
“Oh, I’m fine.” He stretches his back as the remaining books fall to the ground. “If you saw me earlier, you know I can take a hit and nothing can hurt me too badly.”
“Are you sure that’s okay?” She asks concerned. “Maybe you should go see a doctor.”
His eyes open wide. “Oh no I’m fine, I can’t get hurt that badly this is a good thing.”
“Well, what are you doing here?” She asks trying to place his face.
“Oh well after the teachers gave me a stern talking to I got away from them and saw you and kind of followed you for a minute.” He says blushing.
Saffy blushes slightly. “Oh right, you were the one who got into that fight this morning.”
“Yeah, my names Kyle, but you probably forgot that.” He says rubbing his head.
“No, I remember now, it’s just that you look different, so I forgot about what your face looked like. And you’re a little taller so it’s kind of surprising.”
Kyle blushes becoming a bright red. “Yeah, I’ve had a growth spurt.”
Saffy looks past Kyle and looks on a pile of papers with an odd mark on the top of the page. “Oh wait, there they are. Excuse me, Kyle.”
Kyle moves to the side and Saffy crawls her way past him towards the pile scooping up the papers with a smile on her face. “Thanks for your help, now let’s get out of here.”
“Alright.”
Saffy and Kyle walk down the halls as Saffy talks to Kyle happily as he blushes slightly and breathes heavily. They approach the classroom with Saffy smiling slightly as she makes her way towards the doorway.
“Anyway, thanks for your help. You’re still as cool as I remember, but you should probably stay out of fights from here on.”
Kyle blushes. “Right… That was only an accident, or more like a misunderstanding. That guy’s a jerk, anyway.”
“But still it’s not good to fight people.”
As Saffy turns Kyle rushes ahead and puts his hand against the wall forcing Saffy’s attention as she turns back towards him. The pair blush at each other as Kyle tries his hardest to cough up the words.
“Saffron I like you please go out with me!” He yells out closing his eyes.
Saffy stands unable to find the words as the door behind her opens and a student stands in the doorway interrupting the two. “Hey Saffy since you back you can take your seat, the teacher’s about to start class.”
“R-r-right!” Saffy says nervously.
The student looks up at Kyle. “You should head back to your own class now.” She closes the door as Kyle stands there shaking nervously.
“I said it, I finally said it.” He says.
He reaches down and grabs his head as he roars out in pain. “I can keep this under wraps. I can control it, I have to control it.”
Inside the classroom, the student walks up to Saffy and puts her hand on her back. “That guy is bad news Saffy, you should stay away from him.”
“Kyle’s not a bad person, he’s just acting strange right now.”
She rolls her eyes. “Listen I don’t know how you two know each other, but anyone who picks a fight with someone obviously as aggro as Bale isn’t a great person themselves. And that face.”
“His face?”
“Didn’t you see it? I mean you were looking right up at him so how didn’t you see it?”
“What do you mean?” Saffy asks putting the papers down on the teacher’s desk. “He looks normal to me.”
“Really, his face was all weird and sweaty and with that smile.” She says her body shaking. “Anyway, just make sure you stay away from him.”
“I guess,” Saffy says nervously.
A while later outside of the school building in the middle of a courtyard Tri and Saffy sit on a bench with their lunches as Saffy stares up into the sky. Tri pokes her with a spoon getting her attention as she turns towards him nervously. Tri smiles at her and scoops up a spoonful of pudding before pointing it at her.
“Pudding for your thoughts?” Tri asks.
“Thanks,” Saffy says breaking out of her train of thought. “I don’t know what to do.”
“About what?”
Saffy blushes. “Someone confessed to me.”
“Really now, I figured that it would happen, eventually. Aren’t you happy?”
“Somewhat, but it’s a little weird,” Saffy says. “He’s acting differently than before, and it’s off-putting in a way, either way, he’s not acting like himself.”
“Who is he? Maybe I can act like a big brother and start scooping him out for ya.”
Saffy lowers her head. “He was the one who got in that fight this morning, his name’s Kyle.”
Tri drops his spoon. “Really, you're considering dating that guy?”
“I mean kind of, not really. I don’t really understand how I feel right now, but I don’t think I want to go out with him.” Saffy says.
“Good, keep out of trouble and stay away from creepos,” Tri says picking up his spoon. “Great now I need to get a new spoon.”
Saffy hands Tri a spoon. “Use mine consider it a thank you, talking to you always helps me with things like this.”
“Your welcome,” Tri says happily.
As the pair sit and eat a figure watches on from the trees clenching his teeth as the pair continue their lunch. “Asshole, that asshole! He’s keeping me away from her, I have to get rid of him!”
Kyle’s arm starts to twist and convulse. “I have to get her, I need to get her on my side. She’s mine!”
