“FUCK!” I can’t believe that damn guy got in the way. My fist pushes into a brick wall, as I make exiting the alleyway; however, my blood cant stop tingling with excitement. Seeing the sight of that human becoming scared shitless at my small and well... accidentally obvious project, I feel I may have left too out in the open. I'm still feeling a bit hungry but my latest meal will have me filled for the next few days.
I make way a few blocks down where the sack continues to lay unmoving, sockets bled out and face in a satisfying state. "I do have that effect on humans," I speak bending down to lightly caress the face of the corpse.
"Unfortunately you aren't the one I was looking for; it's too bad you were too pushy and demanding for my tastes." I continue, "but this is what you deserve for not being a good plaything like you were supposed to be." Pressing a light kiss to the lifeless individual the shadows around bend and shift as the body disappears concluding the then crime scene to emptiness and leaving behind a clean spotless solid ground.
It’s now been 19 years since I’ve arrived back into the realm of humans they call earth filled with humans how reek of need and attention, it almost had me forget my mission at hand for the first couple of years I came.
I’ve had quite a few encounters with the mortals on earth the past hundreds of years, were at the time a certain virgin demigod in Lumos thought I resided in permanently for the sake of never-ending livestock.
Can’t say I dislike the occasional female stalker, but that male constantly worried about my whereabouts; I had to go back to Gehenna to hide in secrecy a few years too early to get him off my trail for a bit. The man ruined my chances with a European queen I was quite fond of then. I can’t say that this era of human is disappointing though with nothing to complain about the revealing clothes and floral scents they wear. Its practically an invitation for a young incubus like myself to relish in.
Half of them never see my devil in disguise ready to pounce either. As soon as they drift off into sleep after a long night of indulgence, or get too drunk off my pheromones to notice any amount of pain, I suck their life force away completely. I mean to be fair it's not a bad trade! The ultimate gratification from the prince of pleasure himself in exchange for a puny human life. It’s not like my dignified self doesn’t give my meal an option to live however, in the end, they always choose lust.
Now I’ve covered my tracks, that delicious looking female who interrupted had me too distracted to finish my job earlier than needed… meh no matter, that woman wasn’t the priestess I was looking for anyway. I mean how many women must I kill to be met with the same results over and over never finding my target. Not that I minded I mean was more of an excuse just to kill time and gave more time to look for my missing sibling that must be so lonely here.
One act of empathy. One slight show of affection and a hint of sympathy is all it took for fathers rage to reign down on dear sister, no more than an infant siren (in Geheninan years of course) at the time he exiled her into earths pathetic clutches pretty much disowning her.
My one and only sister… disregarded by her own blood for not only taking mothers siren nature rather than becoming a succubus herself but also showing signs of weakness in the dark kingdom. I guess father decided not to kill her on the spot for the sake of her eyes being the one thing she inherited from him, the only thing that made counted her claim as apart of the royal family. It’s quite stupid really! By gaining the physical traits of the king, the offspring child will automatically be claimed as apart of the royal lineage but if a one gains all the traits of the queen, the king will treat his flesh as if they are nonexistent seeing them as nothing more than a nuisance while punishing his wife for it. Sad really.
Curving my way through the inky night into busier streets, neon lights now illuminated the start of a busy nightlife alerting the humans who seemingly who get off from their pointless day jobs in search for some ounce of entertainment in their pathetic restricted society. As much as I enjoy the night I'm taking a raincheck for now.
Waving down a yellow cab I had it lead me back to the wealthier location in the city and brings sight to a now-familiar apartment building I now call home here, a tall structure made of clean-cut brass and steel with glass I could see myself in suited my refined tastes. As soon as I set my eyes upon it I knew I needed a bachelor pad of sorts, so I decided to purchase a room on the top floor; a penthouse of sorts suitable for a prince.
After paying my hefty chauffeur in the smoke ridden cab, I stepped out feeling the glances of women clad in wealth around on my presence, making me instantly adjust my solid Italian made a suit. I decided to give off the aura of a rich man ready to play, giving subtle winks here and there, when I reach double doors opened by the regular doorman. I gave a nice tip on my way in as he then opened the door and propped his slick dark dress shoes opening a closing elevator nearby.
Looking over my shoulder I dip my head slightly to the wealthy older widow who lives under the floor above mine. I continue to observe her as she made no glance in return. Pathetic as she was in her extravagant furs and diamonds her face still held a beautiful youthfulness and a smoldering look of confidence and experience; something which she had the honor of sharing with me for the first few weeks I became a new resident.
“Miss Caldwell what a pleasure it is seeing you on this fine evening,” I say taking subtle glances admiring in memories we'd shared together.
“Ah yes Mr. Leblanc, being quite aware of your dark nature you should know it’s not wise to tease an old mage like myself,” Caldwell replied coyly.
Yes well, this was true, this woman was of the clan of mages that still barely existed in the human realm. Apparently, she traded her immortality and light magic for a human man that of whom she’d felt true love for; all the while knowing his life would deteriorate much quicker than hers. Fool, using the dark arts forbidden in the world of light caused her both immortality and lover in the end.
I barked back slight laughter as the elevator still ascended towards the skies and inched my lips near the curve of her perked ear. “You know If I wanted to, I could kill you right here right now and nobody would think twice to care for a traitor of the light, but then again, dealing with that nasty mage curse would do me no use would it?" I chide. "That's the only reason you haven't fallen under mine."
The sound of a ding meant that Miss Caldwell’s destination had arrived, but before she exited the elevator the vixen had the audacity to grab me by the collar and pulled those seductive lips against my own before reeling back tidying her platinum bun in place, “try to bark at me prince?" she smirked, "please, you couldn't even bite if you wanted too." Shes strolled away leaving me in the closing elevator after her remark leaving me to think of ways to not lethally hurt her, painfully and slowly for suggesting that I couldn't act on my words.
With a sigh, I fixed the aftermath of wrinkles in my suit and the machinery finally reached my penthouse. A few steps forward with a slight bend of my face, the retina scanner beeped approvingly at my eyes and unlocked the single door.
Surrounded in colors of black and white my Bachelor pad was clean met with not one speck of dust.
A single silver diamond-encrusted chandelier hung from the ceiling lighting the space above a charcoal marbled table dawned with 2 single metal chairs at each end. The kitchen was stocked with red wines and champagne as alcohol was the second greatest pleasure gained from this wrenched world, and of course, the bedroom, my favorite place in the house, was the only place where a coat of dark red covered my California king bed. I stripped off my suit as I made way to my second favorite place. Leaving dress pants intact to stand in front of my obsidian mirror (I took with me from the palace) and admired my presence.
“My, oh my Caspian, you are a beastly man aren’t you! Eating humans and chasing little girls in the night you bad man!” I placed a hand over my forehead and ran my fingers across my hair leaning back in distress ever so mockingly, “it’s not like that girl saw your face or anything! she would have been shrieking in agony of your beauty and probably would have gone to the afterlife right then and there!”
Strained laughter came from a corner as I cocked my body upright and waved a hand of greeting at Kela who was now talking through her slight giggles. "What is it Kela you are interrupting my me-time" I grind out.
“Prince, I have some good news of the task you have instructed of me, if you wish to hear it now or after your nightly routine of admiration."
"I assume you had a good hunt?” she asks and I turn as to face her. The human form of the harpy was always a nice sight to see at the end of the day. Her dark skin and dancers body blank of feathers and talons suited her well in this realm.
“Well yes it was quite nice but then the mood got slightly better, I'll tell you the details later, oh but go on harpy tell me what you’ve learned it's only been nineteen years since any good news came from your one, and only job.” I sighed leaning over my bed with slight curiosity.
“It’s the Princess I’m sure of it this time-" my servants' eyes beam with excitement as I perk up with interest.
"She goes by a different name here on earth! And the name she uses?! its Callisto!" she squeals, "You can finally see her again!"
