After Jacob left

Martin's POV

I'm really worried for that boy. I'm afraid that he's gonna be depressed again. I know that he loves a girl, but because he has never loved somebody and she is his friend, he thinks that it isn't love. This feeling is eating him alive. I don't know how long he will resist. While thinking, I took a glimpse of Gabriella looking at the direction Jacob left, while blushing.

'Does she loves him back? Maybe there's a chance! I need to help my cousin.'

Martin: Hey Gabby? Can I talk to you alone for a bit?

Gabriella: Sure.

We went to the roof. It's really quiet here because no one really goes up here.

Gabriella: So, what did you wanted to talk about?

Martin: Look, I'm gonna be honest. Do you love my cousin?

Gabriella: Wha- Where is this coming from?

She was blushing madly at this point. It was really obvious.

Martin: Just answer the question. Please.

Gabriella: Is it that obvious?

Martin: Yup.

Gabriella: Yea, I do. I have loved him for sometime now.

Martin: Why don't you tell him how you feel?

Gabriella: I'm afraid of rejection. I don't want to ruin our friendship. Also I don't think he will ever love me back.

Martin: Why is that?

Gabriella: Don't act like you don't know! I heve bullied him many times without really knowing him. Without knowing what he has been through. Yet, he still forgave me. He still was willing to be friends with me. I don't want to mess it up again.

She was crying now.

Martin: Do you want to know why has he been so distant lately?

Gabriella: Yea.

Martin: It's because he loves you too. And a lot. The thing is, he is afraid of loving. He has lost all his loved ones and he doesn't want to lose you too.

She was staying silent and trying to process all the information.

Martin: That's why you need to tell him how you feel. Before it's too late.
