Make it Through School

Open House

Open House

Jul 07, 2018

It was open house, all the kids had showed up and got to meet all the teachers. They were told what elements of magic they would be destined to choose. Those elements were standard, paraelementals, quasi-elementals, and miscellaneous elements. The standard elements consisted of air, earth, fire, and water. Most students were sorted there. The paramental classes were taught to use their magic with ice, magma, ooze, and smoke. These students tend to act very emotional. The quasi-elemental and miscellaneous students were usually very rare, so if you get in the class, you are quite special.

Now on with the story!!

9:00 am. Families started to barge through the doors to find where their children would be headed. Today would be the day that they figure out who they are! Only one chance!  Most students already have a wand that has been unusable their entire life because they weren't ready. On the other hand, the other students had not found a wand.

As the children entered, a girl with short blue tinted hair waltzed into the room. She was quite short, and the sweet look in her eyes was trying to welcome everyone. She sat down to a boy with buzz-cut, brown hair. He looked up to her and stared. She smiled, "And who are you?" the boy announced in a sarcastic voice. "Uh, my name's Julie. What about you?" The sharp spoken boy looked up and said, "Aiden, but call me Andrew or Garcia." They both looked forward at what seemed to be the principal.

"Hello, students and parents, welcome to our school." A very tall woman stood there, almost perfectly symmetrical.

The entire room was silent and attentive to the woman. A single whisper crawled across the room and everyone had turned. The entire room had started talking. "Well, I can tell we aren't going to be friends with that kid." Aiden glanced over, disappointed. "Do you see me as your friend?" Julie nodded and smiled as Aiden shook his head.

The principal had announced that row by row, students would be sorted into their element. Julie and Aiden turned out to be very lucky. "Quasi." A broad-shouldered teacher told the two. All the parents excited in the back of the space waited for their children to come and tell them. Many of the students got the same element as their parents.

"Well, I'll see you all in a few weeks." Everyone had exited the room.
