I look at the figure in front of me inside the light. The same figure who blew up the room that I was just in, destroying everything … but me. I smile. How shocked the people must be, I savor the thought. But at the same time, doubt crosses my mind.
“Zachariah. I… I… Y-you came… ” I say bewildered. He must have something to gain from this. Why did I have to call out?
He bows and says with a mischievous smile on his face “Of course I did princess. But I’m afraid you by doing so, you have canceled your deal. So simply, you are mine now.” He grins and grabs me, and we disappear into the light.
I wake up to find myself lying in a bed, just like the one in my dream. I sit up and look around. It’s surprisingly well lit. The room is huge, bigger than my old one. It’s well furnished and well, beautiful. It’s the size of an entire peasant’s home. I look down at my clothes to find myself wearing a grand dress made of golden silk.
I feel a cold breeze pass over my shoulders and I shudder. Out of nowhere he appears. “You!”
He just chuckles and says sarcastically. “Yes. Me! Sapphire, you do know why you’re here, right?”
“How could I not? You just… Took me! And… and , m-my deal! You promised!” I stammer.
“You called me. So I came. Your deal said that I would leave you alone unless you are unable to succeed before the deadline. You called me, I came. In doing so, you cancelled the deal.” He shakes his head. “You know, you can let the act drop. People don’t want dumb, spoiled wives you know. You won’t win over people like that. Even if you think this is you, it isn’t. So let the act drop.”
