"Kenji, you should eat a little before you go to school"
My mother pushed a bowl of miso soup before me.
"Fine"
I ate quickly and was out the door.
As I opened the door—
Aya was there, holding her school bag, her hair was sectioned into two twin-tails with the same red headband that she wore when I first saw her, and it was just like in my dream.
"Hi Keito, goodmorning"
"Hello"
"Who's this Keito?"
"This is Aya, she's a new student at my school"
"Hello" She bowed politely.
"My my, what a pretty girl" Said my mother.
She started to smile.
"Are you ready?" She asked as she turned her head.
"Yep, let's go"
(I really forgot about walking to school with her...)
"I hope you weren't waiting at the door too long"
"Oh, no I didn't wait long"
"It's really nice out" Said Aya.
"Yep, it's just my kind of weather" I said.
"So Yume is the class president right?—I think if I didn't know any better and I had to guess I would think it was her " She said.
"Yeah, she definitely seems like the type to be one"
We continue talking until we reach the gates of the school. The first thing I see is Kenji standing near the school gate. You would probably think someone like Kenji would have glasses being that he's an otaku and the way he thinks but he actually doesn't have glasses.
"Oh hey Kenji"
"Hey" Is all that Kenji said back to me.
He must be nervous, he doesn't just say hey, well ...not to me.He must be thinking to himself how lucky I am but wondering how I convinced her to walk with me to school.Being a new student I bet she was already thinking of having someone to walk to school with her in the mornings.
"Ah I'm sorry but I have to go" Aya said.
"Oh, where are you going?"
"Yume said she'd show me around student council this morning"
"Have fun"
She bowed slightly, and disappeared inside school.
"Wait—Keito, Did you really walk to school together?" Asked Kenji.
"Yeah, believe it or not she doesn't live very far from me"
"No way" Kenji replied.
"Oh I just remembered, I never asked you why you never joined any clubs?"
"I can't join any clubs or I wouldn't have time for my bishoujo games"
"Isn't it mandatory for every student to join at least one club?"
"Yeah, but I convinced the principle that it just doesn't fit my otaku lifestyle..."
"He believed that?"
"Well as soon as he heard the word 'Otaku' he understood"
"Haha"
"Really? that's kind of funny"
"I could just imagine what his face looked like"
"Wow Kenji, you surprise me everyday"
I went to go to sit down on the bench that was farther back; under a huge tree.
Kenji followed and sat down beside me, pulling out his phone.
I looked over to his phone, a bishoujo girl with cat ears telling him the time.
"..."
Kenji flipped out his phone.
"What are you doing?"
"Just writing more things about Aya"
"Oh—right, did that ever get you anywhere?"
"What?" Said Kenji looking confused.
"Writing down all this stuff, you know about girls"
"It works for me in bishoujo games, but I haven't tried it yet, I didn't have enough information but I think I have enough about Aya"
"Kenji,"
"Yeah" he looked my way.
Kenji stuck around until the bell rang, I made my way to class and Aya was already sitting in her seat. She was smiling in a way that you could tell that she was thinking of something.
“Hi Keito” She said softly as she waved me by as I took my seat.
“Hi, Aya— goodmorning”
“How did the school council thing go?—did Yume convince you to join?”
“Um, I told her I’ll think about it, it seems like fun”
“Just like I I thought..” I murmur to myself.
(Yume knows that if Aya joined school council everyone would want to be on school council, can’t say she isn’t quick-thinking)
