Hello there to anyone who may, in fact be reading this journal of mine. Welcome and please enjoy your stay on what should prove to be quite the interesting series of entries all based around my life. Oh right, I should probably introduce myself, shouldn’t I? Well, I can start by saying that my name is Damien, Damien Dastra. I am 27 years of age and I live alone in a nice quaint two room apartment in the City of Waves. I am a water apprentice with a creation affinity. I have brilliant white hair that I inherited from my mother, even though I inherited my essence type from my father. I always found it a bit peculiar for me to have white hair and be a water apprentice considering every other water apprentice I’ve ever known has had some shade of blue hair.
I do apologize if I ramble too much at any point during this journal, it is certainly not intentional... Oh! I suppose I should tell you all why it is that I am writing in this journal in the first place! Well, my therapist, Dr. Mariana Kiya, told me that because of the issues that I’ve been having, keeping all of my thoughts and such in a journal or diary might be quite beneficial. She said that it has worked for several of her other patients with similar problems to mine and I saw that there was no reason that I would have to distrust her, after all, we were both medical professionals and we both took up this field in an attempt to better the lives of others, but... He keeps saying things to me, telling me that she just wanted me to do this so that she could truly peer inside my thoughts and pick me apart like a lab rat, but I don’t believe that for a second. He's always been too paranoid...
My therapist said that I should use this journal not as just an outlet to talk about how my emotional and psychological state are progressing, but also to just talk about my day, like any other diary that people usually keep. I think that’s a pretty decent idea, but I also think she may be using this new outlet that I’ve taken upon myself as a way to assess the more mundane and average parts of my life that she doesn’t usually hear about.
I should probably preface this by explaining that I am a researching at the Aquatic and Nautical Center for Research or ANCR for short. We work to test and research the application of aquatic animals and essences in a medical environment. I find my work to be extremely fun and I really love the time that I get to spend with my colleagues. Because of my little issue, I don’t really like to spend much time with them outside of the research center, but I do truly enjoy that time that we do get to spend together. Working with me at the lab are fellow researchers Julia, Tomas, and Peotre. We are quite a good group and often joke that we’re the greatest team in ANCR history, but none of us really believe that.
