Hello there. Today, I am writing to you from the “comfort” of a hospital bed. There was no entry yesterday because I ended needing to be rushed urgently to the infirmary that I am currently in, earlier in the day than when I usually write these entries and I only woke up a few hours ago. I had asked the nurse staying with me if I could have my journal, but she’d said that I still needed to rest more. However, when she changed shifts, I asked the new nurse if she could hand me the book in my lab coat and she had obliged, not knowing what the other nurse had told me. Unfortunately, I didn’t feel well enough to write until just now, so it’s actually been about two hours since I was given the journal even if it only feels like a few minutes. Time sure does fly when you’re high on healing elixir and just had a massive blood transfusion.
Speaking of which, my arm really hurts right now. I’m going to switch to my right hand, so my writing is going to be a bit slower now, but I do still want to continue writing, even though it is most likely in the poor interest of my health to do so. I just feel somewhat of an obligation to make up for my lack of an entry yesterday, regardless of the physical condition that I was and am currently in. I made a commitment to writing in this journal and that is something that I plan to stay on top of as best I can. I do not wish to further degrade my health, but I also know that I can still do this without truly injuring myself. If I do end up putting myself in more pain than I should be in, then I will certainly stop this, but until then, I have absolutely no intention to do so. I do, however, hope that my left arm begins to feel a bit better so that I can go back to writing with my dominant hand as it will make all of this much easier to do.
I guess I should probably explain why it is that I’m in the hospital right now... Well, it all started yesterday, as you might imagine. The day started perfectly normal, nothing out of the ordinary happened. No weird dreams. No trouble getting to the research center. Nothing. I had no idea how horrible the day would end up being when it started. When I got to work, everything seemed a bit off, I couldn’t quite place what was concerning or what felt wrong, so I decided to just keep it all to myself. We started testing some of the lightning angler’s blood and I ended up shocking myself, but I felt fine. Unfortunately, later that day, I felt something wrong, my chest tightened and when I looked down, my veins were all bulging immensely. I collapsed to the ground and began spasming. I managed to sneak out one cry for help before I passed out. When I woke up I was here and Julia explained what had happened. She told me that both my veins and heart had burst open and begun to let out copious amount of blood before suddenly healing up. After that, they transplanted some blood and I was back to normal... or as normal as I could get.
Anyway, the nurse is coming back to run a few more tests before I can leave, so I’ll see you tomorrow.
