The three went outside the Medical Department Building, entering the inner plaza inside the Institute. A wide area covered in green, with many trees and benches, so people could enjoy their break in a peacefully environment.
- So, to begin with, as you can see, this building has a square shape, and inside the square there is this wide green area, in which many employees and us students spend our free time – explained Sam – So, to the right there are the offices of the Administrative Department. At the first floor there is the area concerning our school bureaucracy, so we go there sometimes. The second and third floors are closed to us besides rare cases. Those are the offices for the President and all those who works in the administration of this Institute.
- Oh, I see… - said Erik with a clear low interest.
- Hey, this tour is not for you! Also, didn’t you know all this stuff already? – said Sam, pretending to be annoyed.
- Nah, I’m just keep forgetting that stuff. No real interest, to be honest – said Erik.
- … - Chris just stayed silent as the two have the little chat.
- Anyway, sorry for the interruption, Chris. Let’s go this way – once again, Sam, guided his classmates near to another section of the Institute – And this is…
- Oh, Sam! Erik! Good timing!
Interrupted once again, Sam turned to his friend Stephan, calling them from behind. Chris noticed the odd appearance of this ‘teenager’: a well round face filled with a thick and short beard, brown eyes, short hair and friendly smile. His body was covered by a sweeter and jeans, but Chris noticed he had a developed muscular body. “Is this really a teenager? He seems more like a fully developed adult!”, thought the new student.
- Ah, Ste, what’s up? – asked Erik before Sam could open his mouth to ask the same question.
- They’re finally selling tickets for that concert we talked about last week! –said enthusiastically Ste to his classmates - I’m getting them for all of us who were interested. So, are you still in?
- Of course man! It’s like ages since I wanted to see their concert! – answered Erik with excitement.
- Count me in as well! – said Sam.
- Good! Just remember to give the money tomorrow, got it? Ah, and who is your friend, there? – Ste noticed Chris behind Sam, with a sort of surprised expression.
- Ah, he? Right! – Sam moved so Ste and Chris could see each other properly - Ste, this is Chris, our new classmate. He’ll join us in our lessons at Heisen. Chris, this is Stephan, but everybody calls him ‘Ste’ in here.
- Nice to meet you, Ste – said Chris recovering a better expression, with his usual calm and formal voice.
- Same here, boy. Then, see you later. Gotta get that nuisance of Vas! He stole my lunch again!
With that, Ste continued his search for Vas, who was actually nearby all the time and waited until the pursuer went away. Then appeared before Sam and the others. Chris noticed immediately this classmate wasn’t German. Due to his skin color, he deduced he probably came from some Latino American country. He was tall, had dark hair and eyes, and had a grin on his face that worried the new student To Chris, he was the depiction of a prankster.
- That was close! He was about to find me. Lucky me you were on the way. Thanks guys! – said the ‘thief’, while eating the last bit of Ste’s sandwich.
- Vas! You should get lunch for yourself! – Sam tried to scold the classmate, but as usual it wasn’t effective.
- Yeah, yeah, I know. But I was too lazy to get it in the cafeteria, so… Oh, so there is the newbie! – Vas noticed Chris who was looking at him with a worried face.
- Ah, you know about him? – Sam seemed surprised about the fact Vas somehow already knew about a new member of their team – Anyway, he’s Chris. Chris, this is Andres Vasco, also known as ‘Vas, the lunch thief’!
- Ehm… nice to meet you? – Chris seemed in difficulty to appear gentle before such character.
- Haha! Don’t say that, Sam! Otherwise, he would get the wrong idea about me! – laughed Vas.
- Wrong? Last week you took my sandwich as well! – said Erik pointing his finger at Vas.
- Yeah, and what about that time we ate at Burger’s Corner and you just flew away without paying? - pointed out Sam.
- Hey, I paid for all that! Just… some time later, that’s all! I’m no thief, I just borrow things! - Vas tried to justify himself, but the others obviously didn't agree that much.
- There you are, thief! GIVE ME MY FOOD! – Ste finally found Vas, and rushed towards the ‘lunch thief’.
- Oh, sorry guys, gotta go. See ya!
Vas ran fast, but Ste was a well-rounded athlete, so it took few seconds to reach his prey. From afar, Sam and the others observed how Ste caught Vas and tortured him, rubbing his head with his fist.
“These guys are… crazy”, thought Chris, worried about how many other kind of classmates he was going to relate with.
