The sound of footsteps made Mackenzie's head snap up from her phone as Isaac came back into the kitchen.
"Do you like pizza?" She asked him as he took his seat across from Mackenzie again.
"Yeah I love pizza!" He smiled.
"Great."
Mackenzie ordered the pizza, then she and Isaac returned to their work while waiting for the pizza to come.
After the pizza arrived, Mackenzie and Isaac spent the rest of their evening talking until Jason returned home from the pub with Liam.
Liam was his usual obnoxious self, however being drunk made him that little bit more annoying.
"You must be Isaac." Jason said, shaking Isaacs hand.
"Yes sir, it's lovely to meet you." He answered.
Liam walked towards Isaac, looking him up and down.
"What's your last name Isaac?" Liam asked, placing his hands behind his back.
Isaac glanced over at Mackenzie with a raised eyesbrow, then turned back to Liam.
"Addington." He answered.
Liam's lips parted a little in shock, then his annoying smirk returned.
"Well it was nice meeting you Isaac." Jason said.
"It was nice meeting you too." Isaac smiled as Mackenzie gently tugged on Isaacs forearm.
"Isaac was just leaving." Mackenzie said, guiding Isaac to the door.
"Just stay a little longer." Liam pleaded.
Mackenzie looked at Liam. She knew he was drunk but he was acting very strange.
"I can't, my father is waiting for me at home." Isaac replied.
Liam's face hardened as he took a few steps towards Isaac.
"Your father?" Liam challenged.
"That's enough Liam!" Mackenzie yelled. "Come on Isaac, let's go."
Mackenzie led Isaac outside and shut the front door behind them.
"I'm so sorry about Liam. He's uh..." Mackenzie didn't know how to finish her sentence. Liam was something alright.
"It's okay, don't worry about it." Isaac chuckled. "I'll see you tomorrow?" "Yes." Mackenzie smiled.
She watched as Isaac got into his car and drove off.
Mackenzie went back into the house, Liam clung to the banister for support as he slowly made his way upstairs.
"How could you!?" Mackenzie yelled, making Liam turn around.
Liam's legs gave in as he gripped onto the banister and sat down on the stairs.
"I only wanted to know his last name." Liam said, trying to stand up again.
"No you wanted him to stay s that you could embarrass me. You know, for being thirty eight you'd think you would have learnt to act your age by now!" Mackenzie stormed past Liam and wen to her room, slamming the door behind her.
This wasn't the first time that Liam tried something like this. The first time she had one of her friends over from the netball team, he humiliated her the entire time. Her 'friend' told the rest of the team leading to Mackenzie getting teased so she quit.
Mackenzie lay down on her bed, looking up to the ceiling. Tonight was amazing. She wasn't going to let Liam spoil that on her. She was excited to find out what tomorrow would bring.
