"Okay, then I'll see you tomorrow evening. Goodnight." Mackenzie said.
"Night Kenzie."
Mackenzie made her way up to her bedroom. She put her pyjamas on and got ready for bed, then plopped down onto her bed. She felt her whole body relaxing as she pulled the duvet covers up to her chin.
She switched off her bedside lamp and closed her eyes, making colours dance in front of her vision, then slowly began to drift off to sleep.
"I told you, that we'd see each other soon." A low voice growled, in Mackenzie's ear.
Her eyes sprung open as a hand slapped over her mouth. Within the darkness, a figure peered over Mackenzie's body. It was Azazel.
She squirmed in horror while she tried to pull his hand from her mouth, but he was too strong.
In his other hand, Mackenzie could barely make out the shape of a needle. He stuck it into her neck and injected the fluid into her body.
Almost instantly, her head began to feel light. She knew what he was doing and did the first thing that came to her mind. If she wasn't strong enough to pry Azazel from her, she could at least make noise to get her fathers attention.
She banged her fist against the headboard, in hopes that her father would hear it above the noise of the television. She repeated this two more times before Azazel grabbed both of her hands in the hand that was holding the needle before.
Slowly, her vision began to turn foggy as she started to see doubles. Suddenly, she began to forget where she was or who she was. Her muscles became weak to the point that she couldn't lift them anymore and she stopped struggling in Azazels grip.
The hand that was covering her mouth, was removed and her body was carefully lifted from her warm bed.
"Upsy daisies," His low voice said.
Mackenzie didn't feel afraid. She didn't feel anything.
She was carried towards the bedroom window and he safely jumped from the upstairs window, down to the ground.
He placed her into the backseat of a car, then he got into the drivers seat speeding off.
Mackenzie was trying her hardest to keep her eyes open, but they felt so heavy. She finally gave in, letting the drugs win.

The next day, at break time, Isaac and Grace began to get worried about Mackenzie. They assumed that she wasn't in registration because she slept in, but she was now 2 hours late to school.
Grace clicked on Mackenzie's name once more from her contacts list, in an attempt to call her.
"No answer." Grace huffed as Mackenzie's voicemail played once again.
"I'm gonna go to her house to make sure she's okay," Isaac said, lifting his school bag up from the table that they were sitting at.
"I'll come with you," Grace said.
"Are you sure you wanna skip class?"
"She's my best friend," Grace stated
Isaac understood why Grace wanted to come. He wasn't going to argue to make her stay at school. They both walked to Isaacs car in silence.
Although they never said it, they both feared that Thomas had hurt her. Even though he was on their side now, they still couldn't fully trust him.
Isaac started up the engine as he sped out of the school grounds. Grace could hear his breathing getting heavier and heavier, close to the point that it sounded like a growl.
"Isaac she's going to be okay," Grace said.
"I swear, if Thomas has hurt her, I will kill him." Isaac threatened, his hands gripping as tight as the possibly could around the steering wheel
"Why does Thomas hate you so much anyway?" Grace curiously asked.
Isaac remained silent. He didn't want to admit the truth. He'd much rather forget what he did. He had been running from the past for 101 years and he was willing to continue to do that if it meant never telling anyone about what he did.
Isaac didn't want to tell Grace but she would eventually find out and he would much rather he heard his version of the story, rather than Thomas'.
"I understand if you don't want to talk about it," Grace said.
Isaac shook his head.
"No, I should tell you." He began. "Within the first year of being turned, I was having the worst cravings possible. I was never taught how to resist the urge. I just fed when I wanted. One evening I was so bad that I saw this pregnant woman with a man." Isaac stopped as tears began to form in his eyes.
"It's okay," Grace said
"It's not okay. I let my urges get the better of me and I ended up killing a woman and her unborn child. Thomas' unborn child. That's why he hates me. He promised me that anyone that I ever loved, he would kill, just so that I can feel the pain that he still feels. I fed on Thomas too but didn't kill him, turning him into a vampire." Isaac admitted. The car fell silent as Isaac wiped the tear that had fallen onto his cheek. "That's why Thomas hates me. I made him immortal so that he would have an eternity of misery without his girlfriend and kid, he's now just returning the favour." Isaac said, his voice wavering.
Mackenzie's house came into view.
"Her car isn't here," Isaac stated.
"She usually parks it in the garage." Grace pointed out as Isaac pulled up at the kerb outside of her home.
They got out of the car. Grace hated the feeling of uncertainty. She always had to be kept in 'the loop' of things. Whether it was to do with Mackenzie's boy drama or simple celebrity gossip. However, this feeling was a different feeling of uncertainty. This feeling made her feel sick to her stomach.
They made their way to the front door, but before they knocked, Grace stopped Isaac.
"Everybody makes mistakes Isaac. The main thing is that you've learnt from yours. You cant keep beating yourself up...Have you told Mackenzie yet?" She asked.
"No, she'll think I'm a monster," Isaac said, looking down at the ground.
"No, she won't. You've changed now, and she can see how different you are to other vampires like Thomas and Azazel. She deserves to know why Thomas is doing what he is doing." Grace said.
Isaac nodded in agreement. Mackenzie needed to know the truth. There was no point in her getting to know somebody that wasn't really him. She had to know the real Isaac.
Grace knocked on the door and after waiting a few seconds, knocked again after there was no answer.
Still no answer.
Isaac tried the door handle. The door was unlocked.
"Mackenzie?!" Isaac called out.
Grace walked upstairs to Mackenzie's room and opened the door to see an empty bedroom. As she approached Mackenzie's bed, she could see a small white piece of paper sat on Mackenzie's bed. It was a note.
Graces heart began to beat faster. She felt Isaacs presence behind her as her shaky hand took the note from Mackenzie's bed.
As she read the note, a sob left her mouth. She placed her hand over her mouth in horror, making Isaacs' heart drop.
"What?! What is it?!" Isaac asked in a panic.
"Azazel has her."
"WHAT?!" Isaac yelled in anger.
He grabbed the note from Grace's hand and read it.
Dear Isaac, I really did think that you could help me out with my little quest to turn Addington around. However, since you've turned me down, I've decided to give you a little motivation. Mackenzie is at 21 Maplegrove. Let's talk then.
Isaac's eyes began to turn red as his eyes scanned over the note for the second time.
The anger built inside of him. He scrunched the paper up in his fist and threw the piece of paper onto the ground, yelling in anger.
He pulled out his phone and called Andrew.
"Hello?" Andrew answered
"He has Mackenzie. Azazel has Mackenzie." Isaac said, pacing in Mackenzie's room.
"Where has he taken her too? Where are you?"
"I'm at Mackenzie's house with Grace. He took her to 21 Maplegrove."
"I'm on my way to Mackenzie's house now, stay there," Andrew said, hanging up the phone.
Isaac placed his hands on his head. Grace was talking to him, but he couldn't hear her. All he could do was think of the horrible things that Azazel might have done to Mackenzie. What if he turned her?!
Isaac's chest began tightening, making it harder for him to breath. His breathing became more rapid and he couldn't focus. His eyes darted around the room as he tried to calm himself down.
"ISAAC!" He heard his name being yelled.
Isaac's eyes landed on Grace.
"Isaac, you need to take deep breaths okay?" Grace said, taking in a breath.
Isaac copied Grace by taking in some deep breaths. After a few minutes, he was able to focus again and his chest loosened.
He sat down on the ground and rested his head against the wall. Grace sat down next to Isaac.
"Do you get panic attacks often?" She asked
"I've never had one before," Isaac admitted.
They sat in silence until Andrew appeared in the doorway of the bedroom.
Isaac and Grace got up from the ground.
"Let's go," Andrew said.
They all left Mackenzie's house. Grace went with Isaac and they followed Andrew to 21 Maplegrove.
"I will never live with myself if he hurts her or if he turns her. The fear on her face yesterday morning, when she thought she had been turned, said it all. She'll never want a life like mine and I couldn't blame her." Isaac rambled on to Grace.
"Let's not imagine the worst yet."
Sometimes Grace needed to take her own advice. Although she was telling Isaac not to think of the worse, that's exactly what she was doing.
Andrew pulled up alongside a pavement and Isaac pulled up behind him.
They all got out of their cars, gathering up, meters from the house.
"The house is just down here. I didn't want to let him see us pulling up. Grace and I will go in the back. You go to the front because you're the one he wanted to see." Andrew said to Isaac. "We will get Mackenzie, you deal with Azazel."
Then they all set off to save Mackenzie.
