"Oh uh I don't know, maybe just tell him that the deals off and then leave town!! You do realise that Azazel is one of the strongest vampires to ever exist. He's ruthless." Thomas stated. "We don't stand a chance against him."
"How do you know that?" Mackenzie asked.
"A little thing called google. It's quite magical actually, you just type in your questions and it gives you a world of information. You should try using it sometime." Thomas smiled, making his dimples appear. Mackenzie rolled her eyes.
He couldn't just answer a simple question, he always had to add on a cheeky remark. "Well if your such a fountain of knowledge then tell us what you know about Azazel." Andrew stated.
"I know that he built Addington as a safe haven for Vampires-" Thomas began before getting cut off by Isaac.
"you're just telling me what i already know." Isaac groaned as he placed his head in his hands. He had never felt so hopeless in his life.
Thomas ignored him and continued on with his story "During that time he was known as the demon vampire. All the other vampires feared him. He was strict with his rules."
"What sort of rules?" Isaac questioned, suddenly becoming interested.
"Well to start with, you were only allowed out at certain times of the day, obviously to avoid getting burnt. If you seen him in the street, you had to get down on both your knees and look at the ground until he passed, you weren't allowed to look at him unless told to do so."
Grace let out a snort of laughter.
"Is something funny love?" Thomas asked in anger.
"They weren't allowed to look at him?" Grace asked giggling a little.
"No, and if they did, they were thrown into a prison cell were maximum light hit it. They were left there to burn to death! My personal favourite rule is that each household was given a day and assigned a town in which they could feed in. Of course these weak vampires couldn't control their thirst, so they fed whenever they wanted. Punishment was death."
"How many people did he kill?" Mackenzie asked in shock.
"This is the crazy part....he killed the entire town."
"What?! No that cant be right. I mean, I read that the surrounding villagers killed all the vampires." Mackenzie argued.
"Well you read wrong." Thomas simply stated.
Mackenzie stood in shock. One vampire killed an entire town of Vampires?! How was that even possible?!
"How did he kill them all?" Evie piped up. She sat quiet for most of the story. She was terrified at the thought of facing Azazel but if it meant helping Isaac, she would do anything. He had done so much to help her through her transition process so this was the least she could do.
"For Mackenzie and Graces sake, vampires can't deceive other vampires. I don't know why, we just never could. Azazel on the other hand can. He deceived the whole town to take their own lives, then he fled town with his wife and 3 year old son."
"My great grandfather. He was the son" Isaac whispered.
The room was so quiet, that a pin could be heard drop. That must have been the reason why the 5 vampires stayed with Azazel to protect him. He must have deceived them all!
The one thing that stumped Mackenzie though was that, if he killed all the vampires before, why did he want to go and make knew ones?
"did you find out why he killed them?" Mackenzie asked.
Thomas nodded as a smirk played on his lips.
"I never thought you would ask!" he exclaimed, sitting down on one of the armchairs. "Azazel was never bitten by a vampire, he had a witch turn him. To pay for her unrighteous actions against nature, the witches that were higher up demanded that she slay vampires for the rest of her life to make up for crime that she committed. So the witch cursed Azazel with the burden of having to slay other vampires for as long as he lived so that she could continue on with her usual life. Azazel did her dirty work."
"Witches that were higher up?" Mackenzie asked
"Yeah i don't really understand the whole witch thing myself to by quite honest." Thomas chuckled.
"You don't suppose the reason he is trying to make this town all vampires again is so that he can sacrifice them all for this witch." Evie asked
"That's exactly what i think he's doing." Thomas smirked.

That evening, Mackenzie stayed at Isaacs house. She wasn't sure when she would next see him. She may even be a vampire the next time she seen him if their plan didn't go accordingly. She felt sorry for Isaac. She knew how hard this was going to be for him. She could see that he wasn't like the monstrous vampire image she had depicted in her mind. He was warm, caring and a gentle soul.
Isaac and Mackenzie lay in Isaac's bed, staring at the ceiling. Just being in each other's presence, made Mackenzie feel warm and fuzzy and she never wanted that feeling to go away.
"Mackenzie?" Isaac softly said
"Yeah?"
"I need to tell you something." He said, remembering what Grace told him when they were on their way to save Mackenzie from Azazel.
"What is it?"
"I want you to know the whole me. Not just the good parts. I want you to see me for who I truly am." Isaac said, pausing for a moment. He couldn't believe that he was about to tell Mackenzie what he did all them years ago. "There's a reason why Thomas hates me." Isaac began, pausing for a moment so that he could phrase his next sentence in the best way he could. I mean, was there a 'best way' that you could phrase what Isaac was about to say? "I killed his girlfriend and unborn child back within the first year of being turned. That's why he wanted to hurt you. He wants me to feel the pain that he feels everyday. Anybody that I care for will die at the hands of Thomas and it's all my fault. I understand if you think I'm a monster now."
Mackenzie sat upright, peering down at Isaac who had a tear slowly falling down his cheek.
"Let me tell you something Isaac. You are the last person out of all these vampires that I would call a monster. You are kind, caring and if you did kill two people, I know that you didn't mean it. You were still learning how to control yourself. Unlike Evie, you had no one until you met Andrew. Your one of the strongest people I know." Mackenzie said, wiping them tear from Isaac's cheek.
"I can never let Thomas hurt you. After we get rid of Azazel, I know that he's going to turn back to his old ways."
Mackenzie didn't want to think that way about Thomas. He was slowly becoming more bearable to be around. And even though he was a smart-ass, he genuinely cared about the group. Or at least that's what Mackenzie thought.
"Isaac, let's not worry about me. We need to worry about you for once. We're going to get you out of this mess and then we can figure out what to do with Thomas."
Isaac smiled at Mackenzie. What a perfect person she was. He sat up in bed so that he was facing Mackenzie. His eyes moving from freckle to freckle on her nose. They then trailed up to her blue eyes. Her large pupils hid most of the blue colour that stood out.
Then without thinking, he leaned in and kissed her.
It was like all their problems instantly melted away. Mackenzie's heart raced with excitement as her hands played with his hair. They both had been waiting for this for what seemed like a lifetime.
After a moment, Mackenzie pulled away as a smiled spread across her lips. They're lips barely grazing each other.
"Thank you." He whispered against her lips, before crashing them back onto hers.
