Harry, Ron, and Hermione chatted eagerly as they left the train. They got to meet Both Ron's Parents and Hermione's. Hermione had to go quickly but Molly looked at Harry who still didn't have a ride home. "My dear boy, where is your ride?" She asked. Harry having come to the conclusion they weren't picking him up, smiled at Miss. Weasley. "Oh! I'm walking home." Even Ron looked surprised. "Harry, said you didn't live in London." "Hmm? Oh I don't. It's fine though, not to far of a walk from here." Molly Weasley wasn't having any of that. "Non sense Harry. Come, we'll give you a ride home." Harry tried to decline, but Mrs. Weasley could be a bit scary sometimes. He nervously accepted the offer (not that he had much choice.)
Harry directed them to his Aunt and Uncle's house. About half way there Ron looked at him. "Blimey Harry, I thought you said you didn't live far!" "S-sorry." Harry said, feeling as if he may have tricked them. He didn't mean too. "No, it's just, I can't believe you were planing on walking." Ron laughed.
Voldemort looked at Harry. "Me neither." He said. Both young and older Harry blushed lighly from embarrassment.
Molly spoke up. "I am curious dear. Why didn't your Aunt or Uncle come pick you up?" Harry stuttered. "W-well, they were...very busy. My Uncle could get off work and my Aunt... she... had to pick Dudley up... his walk was father in the other direction you see - so, yeah." Harry felt bad for lying. Voldemort said what Molly was thinking. "Bad Liar." Harry huffed . "It was the first time I had to okay."
They pulled up to Privet Drive. "This is far enough. Thank you so much for the ride." Harry said. Ron rolled his eyes. "You're welcome Harry, for the 12 hundredth time." He called out. Harry laughed nervously. After saying thank you one more time to Mrs. Weasley, he ran off.
Molly engaged the invisibility booster, but didn't drive off. Instead She followed Harry down the road to the front of his house. "What are you doing mom?" Ron asked, peering out the window.
Harry tried to open the door but it was locked. Checking to see if Mrs. Weasley was around he knocked. Sure enough, Vernon answered the door. His face was red with anger and disgust looking at Harry. He invited the boy in and shut the door.
Harry and Voldemort were transported with little Harry in the house. Harry was mortified that Molly had known he was lying.
Vernon didn't yell or anything. He pointed up the stairs. "You have been moved up stairs into Dudley's second bedroom. Put your bags away then come here." Little Harry was starting to shake. He decided quite Vernon was a scary Vernon.
Voldemort looked at Harry. Any twinkle of hope or happiness he'd gained from watching his school year had gone. His eyes were dead dull again, but now even he was starting to tremble.
