Folle sat in the meeting room, looking around himself every few moments. He felt like he needed to be cautious, a strange aura was making the room cold. The room seemed isolated from everything else completely, nothing from the outside heard. The only sound in the room was the ticking of the clock on the wall that seemed to be getting louder and louder. Every few moments, there was a click or two across the wooden board walls of the room. Folle blamed the temperature shifts in the room for this.
Folle actually thought that Terra would make this room more decorative than it is. The all brown, wooden palette of the space seemed too formal. But Terra let it be, no one paid attention to such a fact but Folle couldn’t not think of it when coming into the room.
He stopped thinking about the décor as soon as he saw the Arcana spilling into the room. Folle gulped as he revised his words in his head many times. He hoped he doesn’t make a fool of himself, he is delivering important news after all.
Far away from the meeting and the mansion of the Arcana, the group was camping over at one of the domes. Actually, the dome where they found Emil and Theo.
With nothing to do, the group got stranded in boredom. Some found it easy to cope, such as Rosa. She found the break time between events to seclude herself behind the dome and take a few hits. All the stress from the situations had its toll on sobering her. And as soon as she felt her head hurting she couldn’t wait to get her hit when all the happenings died down. Theo also found a way to pass time with Emil, starting up an awkward conversation as soon as Folle was gone. It took Emil some time to open up, but Theo found that talking about Emil’s thoughts was easier for the both of them. Since he seemed to be talking more straightforward about them.
Linh though wasn’t having a good time. First, she tried to shorten her time by revolving the dome door until the hinges came off and left her sweating. Next, once again using the telekinesis, she tried to set up a sand tornado. Though an argument between her and the two men who were sitting across trying to talk to each other stopped her.
“Agh! Can’t we speed this up somehow, isn’t this a dream or something?”, Linh complained, throwing her head back in annoyance.
“I don’t know, if we did have such an ability you would’ve skipped the whole adventure already.”, Theo groaned. Of course he did so after Emil finished his sentence.
Rosa could hear the starting of the argument from afar. It was very weird hearing Theo bitter like this, she could recall two times when he was behaving like this.
“Yeah, ‘adventure’. More like sitting down and talking about topics instead of trying to move forward in any way.”, Linh said. “Also, why do you keep speaking up every time I say something? Do you really want to fight with those powers of yours?”, she added, snickering after the last sentence.
Rosa herself felt a bit irritated about the provocation. After taking a final hit she stood up and started walking back to the three of them. Her steps getting faster as she felt like a fight was to brew.
“I’m pretty sure if I didn’t throw up those flowers here you’d be dead, no?”, Theo said. He rolled his eyes as he rose up from his sitting position, leaving Emil to sit there. One half of Emil wanted to interject and break up the fight that brewed, the other half seemed to hold him from doing so.
He and Rosa (who managed to get there) got startled though as Theo flew back into the sand, as if pushed.
“I say you stay down.”, Linh said after shooting a glare at Theo, which was the reason he fell.
“-Okay, okay! We should stop here.”, Rosa jumped into the argument, jumping between the two of them. Of course, Theo was the weaker part in the fight, so it wasn’t exactly a fair one.
“Why stop here?! Why stop?! He knows he will lose and jumped into the fight on purpose!”, Linh shouted so that Theo could hear it loud and clear.
“If you are planning to pick a fight with him, consider me on his team.”, Rosa said and shot a glare at the other. She clenched her fists. They were overflowing with the acidic anesthesia, ready to strike.
Seeing that Rosa was ready to fight, Linh felt destined to lose. She decided to give up on the fight, not wanting to end it with acid burns.
“What is it, girl?”
Kekeke.
Linh found no sound could escape her throat in those moments. All that got left of her attempts to scream out was the grimaces which resembled a mime. It was if only she could hear and speak in her thoughts.
‘What the fuck? Is it you, asshole!?’, Linh screamed in her mind, which had turned audible. Her eyes felt unfocused. All that she saw around herself was pitch black darkness, no more Theo, Rosa or Emil.
‘Where am I, fucker?!’, she yelled once again after she didn’t get her answer right away.
‘Oh... Curious?’, something like a distorted television sounded from her mind. This was not from something that she thought of, though.
‘Answer my damn question!’, her mind screamed into the dark. She only could make out her limbs which floated completely still. She felt her muscles spasm in all ways possible but they couldn’t move the physical parts out of their place.
‘Don’t worry, I’m tidying up your mess, deary. You should be thankful~ Kekekeke..’, the voice said in somewhat a lovey tone. It was obvious that the tone was fake and somewhat mocking to Linh, who felt her blood boil.
‘I don’t think I will ever appreciate it, you fucker.’, Linh’s mind snarled at the voice coming from her head. ‘Not after you stabbed right through me!’. She tried to jerk her right hand and could feel only slight movement.
A knock and a snap were all it took as Linh felt burning in her eyes and needle-like pain through her head. The pain going from her chin diagonal to the upper neck. Her grimaces switched to a loud shriek that echoed more through her mind and then the desert. Tears streamed down her cheeks as her eyes tried to wash out the thing that was causing the sudden stinging.
“Alright, what the fuck happened now?”, Linh croaked from her abnormal dry throat. Her still watering eyes tried to scan the area when she managed to get up for a brief moment.
“I'm pretty sure it’s your job to tell us what the hell were you thinking?”, she heard Rosa say. The voice was stern and seeming full of venom. “First, you pick a fight with Theo, and then cut into Emil when he is not even expecting you. We’re supposed to be a team here and look at what you’re doing.”.
Linh was recovering from the pain but still remained more and more irritated at Rosa’s lectures.
“Yes! Because if I remembered what I did wrong I would learn something!“, Linh said. A sarcastic tone seeped out of her words. As she rose her upper body up again, her stomach felt a similar sensation like something of before. Putting her hand on the place where a stab would was prior, she felt her hand get coated with something... Blood? She also felt a small metallic object stuck inside. Reaching and grasping the cold metal, she found it was a handle of something. She looked down at herself. Her eyes widened at the presence of a metal butterfly knife stuck in her abdomen. Looking for anything more on her body, she came upon a gash in her thigh. The cut had tore right through her pant leg and into her thigh.
In that moment, things flashed across her irises, memories of things she had never done. At first she was still, floating in the air. The memory cut to her out of a sudden. She had a vision of charging at someone through the air like a hawk and sharp stinging in her eyes, stomach and thigh. She suspected this was when the damage got inflicted. She looked up from herself to find she had started levitating from the ground again. Taking a look around herself, in the distance she spotted two figures. It didn’t take long to recognize who they were, the one on sand was Emil, he seemed to be.. Unconscious? He had some bruises along his body and some places laid covered with varying flowers. She suspected these places got wounded in a more severe manner. Knowing how Theo loves Emil, to be fair, she felt a tiny bit of emotion towards the two of them.
Turning back to Rosa, she spoke: “Is he going to be alright?”.
“I don’t know, how about you ask yourself? You’re the one who did all this. “, Rosa replied, no mercy showing through her voice.
“Alright, alright. But I’m sorry I don’t remember anything because I wasn’t even in my own body!”, Linh said. Saying the other sentence with some annoyance.
“You think I can full-on trust you on that? Yes, you didn’t speak at all while attacking which is weird. Also, your attacks seemed unnatural at best.”, Rosa replied. She stopped to glance in the direction of the two others. She turned back to Linh: “For all I know, you could be the first boss of these Arcana and we don’t know.”, she added. This time she was quieter. She glared at Linh before getting up from the sand and walking towards the other two, not even saying a bye. She left Linh to wonder as for a moment she watched the three but turned away as soon as Theo glared out at her. ‘Can I be what she said?’, Linh muttered in her mind. She looked down at her wounds and made circles around one of them with her left thumb.
A familiar voice pierced her ears as she looked up to find... That fucking brat. Above the three others was Folle, The Fool. He seemed to be calling out to Linh. Linh groaned as she levitated towards the group. She didn't want to look at them direct as she felt burning glares on her side.
“Hello everyone! Terra noticed your clothes were a bit torn, so they sent some new knitted ones your way!”, Folle announced. He first handed the clothes to the three of them on the ground before finally looking at Linh.
“Oh... Your wounds look terrible! it would be better to first heal you-“, Folle advised. Linh looked behind her for a moment before noticing bloody drops on the sand. She looked at Theo who turned his gaze away.
Folle let out a sigh, “I guess the tensions between you are a little off. Linh, please come with me. “, he said, with a sad glance at Theo before extending his arm towards Linh.
Linh debated a little bit about going with him, but the pains that were getting worse moment by moment. She found it would be better to heal it before she hits the ground again. She took his little arm as he smiled at her with sympathy.
“We’re going to The High Priestress, please be respectful. I’m not sure how much she will be willing to help.”, Folle advised Linh. They started floating up in moderate fast, to try and reach the mansion in no time. Leaving the three on the ground, with their new sets of clothes, and a grudge against Linh.
