-This story began in my youth. It was in the days when I was younger than you are. At that time, I was a child who loved drawings and dreamed of becoming an artist, whether it was like the Renaissance painters who had marked their place in history with impressive paintings that have transcended through time and time. times when reflecting the times in which they lived in their works, or as writers of many comics that surely you can recognize today, and I warn you that at that time they were a novelty that caused great change in the activities of who we were young in those days.
- Are not two very different things?
Mr. Andrew recovered some of his wicked grin and turned to me.
- Boy, It may seem something very different to you, but both are art equally. At that time I wanted to be able to draw with all my soul, but it was when the path of my life deviated from my own desires, and I started to take a different path.
At that moment, Mr. Andrew's smile began to fade again.
-In those days, I had an older brother who was already in college. He was our father's pride, and I could say without fear of being wrong that he was also his favorite. Unlike me who dreamed of being an artist, my brother dreamed of being a successful entrepreneur with simple and cold logic. But despite that, he was still a member of our family, and treated our parents with the same familiarity and affection he received.
Mr. Andres turns his face to the sky, and the phrase he said helped me to understand better than what that thought was about.
-But that was when he had a fatal accident. For our family it was a big blow to the heart, but for our father it was as if he lost a part of who he was. He began to distance himself from others, and began to ramble in conversations talking about how things would be if my brother had lived, and how he had managed to get this far, without failing any of his exams in all the time he had been in University. He had lost his greatest pride, and although he paid more attention to my brother, he had not been the kind of father who marginalized his other son. But despite that, he was a person who preferred the point of view of someone who looks at a business like my brother, instead of an artistic vision like the one I was looking for at that time. And that's why I made a decision that might have seemed right at the time, but in the long run I discovered that it was just a mistake
Mr. Andres let out a sigh and paused before continuing.
-After a year, the time came when I had to choose whether to enter a university, or work with an artist I had known at that time and who could help me fulfill my wish; However, that was what made my decision more difficult than I expected, and I made the decision that led me to what I am today. I made the decision to go to the same university as my brother, and take his same university career to try to give back to our father his former pride.
At that point, I understood the reason for the thought he had given me, and also because he gave me that paper note at that moment. And from the depths, I felt I had to listen to what was left of Mr. Andres’s story.
