Elijah had just finished his lunch and was packing up the rubbish from the lunch that Emily had given him. Elijah was never one to let other people into his life so easily. That is when it hit him. He glanced over to Emily and realised just how dangerous his situation was. If she found out what was happening to him then all will be lost. His efforts to hide the monster mark on him. He also thought about how she easily got close to him. He was able to shake her off before but now she was naturally sitting with him. He didn't want to change he hated change but something was definitely happening. To him it was a big surprise as well as a curse.

"Do you want to walk to class together? We have practical classes next don't we?" Emily asked while trying her best to get his attention. He looked at her then without giving his body the chance to relax he turned and walked away. His chest tightened it was like he was being pushed back by an invisible barrier the pain was as bad as being hit by a baseball and he was starting to get winded from it to make matters worse the mark was starting to show through his clothes. He clutched his chest half out of pain and half to hide the mark then ran to the restrooms. He hid in a cubical then took his shirt off. The mark was glowing brighter than before, he sat down to collect his thoughts. Slowly the mark was simmering down to the old faint glow it was and the pain in his chest was disappearing with it. By time he had left the cubical the bell for class to start was starting to go off.

He arrived at the training grounds and looked around to see if he was late. Luckily he saw his class and as per usual Derek and the other humanoids of the male species were trying their best to chat up Emily. By now the girls were getting frustrated from the lack of attention they were receiving but at the same time they wanted to be around her too. He just noticed that in the VERY short time that she was here she was already a celebrity. There were rabid fan groups who tried their best to make time tables allowing people to see her. If someone was found not going according to the schedule then they miraculously wound up all beat up at school the next day. Although there was an exception. Alex. Alex was the most athletic boy in the school despite being in the same grade as Elijah. Alex had everything kinda like Emily. He has good looks, He is smart, popular with both the boys and girls, he is rich and he has a good sense of humour. Everyone liked him even the girls in the older grades asked him out. He was an exception because no one dared to ruin themselves both physically and popularity wise. Alex was the best in school at combat against monsters. Rumours were going around that he was asked by every school both private and public to join them but he declined them all. He ended up here in this junk school. Elijah never could understand the rich. He looked over to Alex who was laughing with his friends when he then decided to make his move. He started to walk over to Emily and he could see that they were having a good conversation both were laughing and talking and at one point Emily was blushing a bright red and holding her cheeks whilst looking at the ground fiddling with the grass with her shoe. To Elijah it was much, much more than he could ever do.

He didn't want attention he always told himself that so why. Why was he so frustrated at the sight of them getting along together. He decided to sit down further away from everybody. He crossed his legs and dropped himself onto the grass on the field. he was depressed he didn't know why but he was. He started to pull grass out from ground one by one like a Gardner who was really slow at their job. When he put his head up his eyes caught Emily's and only then did he realise just how pretty they were. They were the most vivid blue he had seen in his life and it was calming to look into them. Just as he realised he was unintentionally looking into her eyes he snapped his head down to look at the grass. Then he heard his name. No one ever called his name except one person. yup. You guessed it. When he looked over into that direction he saw Emily walking over to him smiling. She had one hand in the air clutching an object. It was only a silhouette of an object though. He couldn't see it through the sun's blinding rays. Finally she had arrived to her destination an lent down to give him the object.  In her hand was his cellphone at the same time she pulled out her phone and waved it around. 

"You dropped this and I noticed that you didn't have any numbers except for Old Hag so i decided to add my number" She said with a smile stationed across her face. Elijah looked at his contacts to find a new number and a name attached "Emily <3" He looked at it then her she smiled even wider and laughed.
"You should see your expression right now!" She continued laughing.
"By the way who is Old Hag?"

"My Landlord" He replied. He noticed movement behind and shifted himself to get a better look. Across from them was an angry mob ready to set fire to an entire city. But he noticed Alex he looked shocked. He pointed over in their direction he wasn't in an audible range but his lips read.
"Who the hell is that kid?"

Elijah laughed and to himself realising just how funny his situation was. He opened his eyes and wiped away the tears of joy to find Emily completely frozen her face was red and her mouth was dropped in awe. When she noticed Elijah looking at her she cover he mouth with her hand.
"That is the first time I have seen you smile" She said.
"I really think you look amazing when you smile" She added

"Don't make fun of me" He shot back.

"No I really mean it" She insisted.

She took a seat next to him on the grass and sat there for a while. Then out from the main campus building they saw their new military teacher. He looked over to them then yelled loud enough that you would think that he had a mega phone.
"We are training with real monsters today! So come into the Gym"

They had all arrived there when everyone was in he shut the door.
"Let the training begin!" He said while turning on the lights to reveal monsters in cages.
