I sensed his shift in position first before he fully turned to me and I recoiled straightening up to face him. I sure as hell wasn’t going to go down like a wimp. So I swallowed hard and tried to ignore how completely attractive I find him. It’s bad enough he made the deal with the security officer for me after being caught obviously after trailing him and his posse like a little bitch but him catching a whiff of me being gay let alone that I fantasize about him will just ruin my year. He moves closer into my space and the smell of his scent and cologne waft to my nose and I resist the urge to shuffle my feet back and just try to read his expression which has yet to show any indication of anger. He came to a standstill and fixed his beanie as he asked “someone sent you here to spy on us?” with a slight eyebrow raise that made him look devastatingly handsome.

“I came out here on my own because now that I have the privilege of being your roommate it means I can get in trouble too for not reporting this.” I said animatedly gesturing with my hands between them and the people who were still on the other side hovering over a laptop screen and finished “and as an exemplary leader unlike you I have the obligation to report this first thing in the morning to the Principal.”

His whole demure was wasn’t thrown off by my threat in fact he grew more blasé’ and said with nonchalance “that’s fine, we’ll just tell him you were on plan until one of the girls curved you which made you vengeful and like a sore loser turned to lies”

“he’ll never believe I’d ever join a plan this…….this….disgusting. my record is spotless Conrad” ilet a frustrated yell get the better of me

He smiled. Evan laughed, shook his head and left us alone.

I was alone in the dark with the object of my fantasies who reached out to pat down the collar of my dress shirt which was under a polo cardigan “why not, you look dressed up too. The preppy look makes you look striking and there’s nothing girls like more in a guy. So I hear” my brain froze Conrad had just called me handsome and I actual felt the phantom of his breath on my, the phantom of his touch lay rested on my collarbone where my collar was and I wanted his hands on me again. He laughed “c’mon no one here will force you into anything but at least come sit with us and give us a chance?” I pretended to think looking over to where Evan joined his friends.

A couple introductions banter and drink later Conrad forced me to drink a whole bottle of sparkling water as everyone else was taking about the nba game 2 series from last year that I neither followed nor understood.

“Remember Draymond Green can literally gouge a man’s eye out and its standard foul yet Tristan Thompson threw a loose elbow and was ejected. Glad the NBA is fair and balanced” Cordelier said and the girl she’d kissed earlier sighed “I don’t know he deserved that.”

Evan asked with open arms a bottle of water spilling to the ground on his left hand “why?”

She puckered her lips, brushed a strand of hair from her face as she rolled her eyes dismissively “after what he did to Khloe Kardashian I just don’t know if I can ever support anything he does.”

Literally everyone groaned in frustration to her answer including Conrad who mindlessly rested one hand on my thigh as he when on to talk about the teams or was it the players all I registered was that he was a LeBron James fan. The bickering went on and on until his sister yelled ‘wait Luthor!! Is your dad Conrad Luthor who ran for senate?” Lekan answered for me “one and only.”

And she screwed a cap back on the water bottle she had since changed and was now sipping on and slapped her hand on her thigh “your new friend is our guest for dinner this weekend remember mom telling us to behave?” she raised her perfectly shaped brows at her brother who replied “fuck! I wasn’t listening to her” as he cast me a look and took away his hand. I asked “what?” because realy what the actual fuck

And she said “our parents are getting in business together so we’re family friends now.”

And Conrad added “yea, we’re having together this weekend.”
