"Come with me," she smiled the most radiant smile I had seen in a while, "I know you don't really know me yet, but I want to help people and you look like you don't want to be alone anymore. Correct me if I'm wrong, I mean you can say no, but my first act to help people is for you to have a friend in this lonely world."
I smiled softly back, she was right, I didn't want to be alone anymore, "Sure, by the way, I'm Eli. What's your name?"
She walked back over to her vehicle and opened the passenger door for me before moving to the driver seat, "Daisy."
I hopped up into the truck wishing I was as tall as her and got comfortable. "So how do you plan to help other people?" She kept her eyes on the road and both her hands on the wheel. It was interesting really, to see someone so cautious about following driving laws when no one else was on the road and there hadn't been cops here in a long time. She smiled again before answering, "I have no idea, but everything is awful for everyone right now and I want to bring them hope. It doesnt have to be the end of the world, a lot has happened, but we are still here."
I was awe, I had never heard so much hope after everything. We had lost so much, family, friends, significant others, houses, food, water, but somehow she had hope and that made me hope a little too.
We fell into a comfortable silence as we drove around looking for people to bring hope to.
"So, Eli," she drums her fingers on the wheel. I chuckle, "Yes?" She cleared her throat and laughed, "What's your favorite color?"
