Slender, snow-white arms were wrapped around a handsome man’s neck. Floating horizontally from the height of his head behind the man’s back was a female creature.

Her black, sheer outfit screamed sex, ready to happen. Her long, wavy hair was pure white, floating around her like she was engulfed underwater. Her eyes had two irises, like twin marbles connected to one another. One eye had red and black, the other red and bright blue. Her face was the sort of beautiful—youth’s perfection—most men secretly lusted after even if they would never admit it to themselves. Age-wise, she looked no older than eighteen or so. Her ample, curved bosom was all but falling out of her outfit and she wore nothing but a thong on her bottom half.

I couldn’t help but stare. I mean…

What the hell am I looking at?

I knew what it was, of course. But Nellie’s description of “a very improper young woman” didn’t do this creature justice.

To make the experience even more sickly surreal, through the lacy material of her top, it was evident she was...pregnant.

I let out a strangled cry, unable to hold back my shock at this random development.

Of all days for a succubus to find its way into my house!

The she-devil turned her head sharply toward me. As her alien eyes latched onto my form, her smile grew wide and hungry. Her fingers unlocked from around the handsome man’s neck and she floated her way over to me. The man she was attached to continued passing by, down the hallway. He was wearing the outfit of one of the employees, but I didn’t recognize him. Was he new?

The she-devil’s sultry, rich voice quickly distracted me from my speculations. “Hello, Sister,” she greeted me in a show of bizarre warmth.

I stared; confused, offended, and horrified. “S-Sister?” I repeated, choking it out tightly.

Her smile grew as she licked her lips. “From what I sense, you nearly became like me.” She rubbed her large belly fondly, smiling sweetly. “You were fucked by evil yourself, weren’t you? I sensed him, so I pushed my little Poopsie to apply here.” To add to the twisted nature of everything happening in this one moment, she rubbed at her back. “Oooh. Sweetie, you can’t keep kicking like that,” she scolded her belly sternly. “This one’s such a bad little devil. He'll be such a trouble-maker when he grows up.”

I floated back, ensuring a distance of at least ten feet between us. The succubus was letting off waves of twisted sexual energy that brought up old memories. “W-what do you mean?” I couldn’t help but ask, knowing I wouldn’t like the answer. Morbid curiosity drove me forward in my quest for knowledge from the she-devil. Nessie hadn’t explained anything about how a succubus came about and I doubted the nanny had known either way.

The succubus tilted her head, blinking her strangely captivating eyes slowly. Her hair shifted with her, floating in that fluid, hypnotizing way that she seemed to exude from her very pores. “You really don’t know?” she frowned, surprised. “We are formed from human spirits twisted up through sexual methods. Our souls are tainted and, after death, we turn the same suffering we endured upon the Living. Of course, it’s not every human that dies in such a way that transforms into something far removed from humanity. It’s only the special few that were truly shattered and corrupted. You, dear little ghost girl, were nearly one of those special few.”

Unable to find words, I could only stare at her in silence.

I was almost like her…?

The very thought alone felt completely wrong. How was it possible that something so different could have started out as a human? If something like this was possible, then what about demons? Those unholy creatures that ghost hunters always seemed to be the most excited and terrified about coming across.

She leaned back, floating horizontally like she was lying out on an invisible bed. “Too bad, really. I don’t get to meet my Sisters and Brothers very often. There are so few of us and it takes so long to birth our demonic offspring…” Abruptly, she sat up ramrod straight. Her tongue—black and forked like a snake—flicked across her lips in delight. “THERE HE IS!”

The she-devil disappeared like she’d never been there. A few seconds later, I felt the negative energy in the house skyrocket as Ross woke from his rest. Terror shot across my mind as I realized that whatever reasons the she-devil had come were not for anyone’s good.

Fear caused me to hide as far as I could. I didn’t know how bad this would become, but I worried for the Living who would come tonight. Whatever consequences would come of this would be horrific.

[ON HIATUS!]

I was a normal woman until three years ago. But when fate had me cross paths with Ross one night, my life as I knew it changed completely.
Is there "life" after death? Yes.
None of it is as fun as you Living might think.
Stuck inside the house where I was killed brutally—right alongside my murderer, I might add—I waste away the time, waiting for my peace to come or whatever it is that allows ghosts to pass on to show itself.
While I'm very busy with that, I have to contend with the occasional—or not so occasional (some of them are really persistent)—Ghost Hunters.
Sorry. "Paranormal Investigators".
There's one group showing up soon that seems like they'll be different than all the rest. I'm not sure why...Something about a powerful psychic who investigates with them.
Either way, I plan to make sure I send this group packing as well.
All I want is to be left in peace...and find some way to escape my killer, even in death.
