*Fall's POV*
“All right I’ll be here to pick you up after the session okay? You sure you don’t need me to go in with you, or wait outside?” Kylar looked me up and down, with a warm feeling as he became protective. Today was my first session of therapy after waking up from my coma a month and a half ago. I laughed at his protectiveness. Grabbing his shoulders, I stood on my tippy toes and gave a soft kiss to his cheek.
“I’ll be fine! I promise! I’ll see you in thirty minutes okay?” Kylar slowly nodded and waited until I entered the building to leave. Walking up to the secretaries desk, she smiled at me.
“You must be Fallen Amour. Mr. Abens is waiting in his office. It’s this way.” She gestured towards his office while standing up from her chair, and started walking down a narrow hallway filled with different colored doors. She reached a dark brown one with a black plate on it that read ‘Mr. Abens’ on it. Opening the door for me, the secretary then gestured for me to enter. Inside, a middle-aged man sat at his desk staring intently at his computer screen.
Now noticing me, he smiled and stood to greet me. He outstretched his hand. Placing mine in his, it shocked us both, causing each of us to jump back a little. Giving an awkward laugh, he spoke, “Welcome Ms. Amour! I’ve been waiting patiently since you first called. Your story is quite fascinating if that isn’t too harsh to say.” He hesitantly spoke the last part, and I gave him a reassuring smile that it was fine. I was aware that my situation was unique. I only made the appointment because my parents were concerned with my well-being and how I’d handle the world, having been in a coma for three months.
“Please sit!” Mr. Abens gestured to the leather sofa in the center of the big room. As I sat down, he sat in the chair across from me. “I won’t start off heavy today; we’ll just get to know each other and learn to be comfortable with each other first.”
Smiling, I tried to trust him as much as I did everyone else in my life. It was a bit awkward to talk to a stranger about the things happening in my life, but I suppose I was a bit different from his other clients that came for depression, anxiety, abuse or other things. I was here more to talk about how I was adapting after waking up from my coma.
Though I knew he was going to help me, the air still felt oddly unsettling, but I tried to brush it off as just a nervous feeling. Everyone gets nervous, right?
“So how was it?” Kylar instantly wrapped his arm around my shoulder and escorted me to the car as I exited the building. I took a moment to collect my thoughts. All we did was get to know each other. The real questions will come in our next session.
“It was okay. Want to get some food? I’m starving.” Kylar laughed at my words opening the car door and closing it after I sat down.
“Shall we go to Larries?” He asked as he got into the car with a teasing smile. I nodded, and he started to drive off. Leaning my head back I closed my eyes, my hand resting on his as he drove, his fingers tracing over my hand.
“This will be interesting. The Forbidden couple everyone talks about, just at my fingertips.” Mr. Abens watched the couple leave from the lobby window. He smiled to himself while tapping his index finger on his chin. “The only two people who would sell their souls so frivolously. Now, I just need the government angels to catch one of them.” He laughed to himself before turning to his secretary who was smiling ominously, her blood red eyes glowing as she smiled back, black horns peeking through her blonde hair.
