So this whole thing came about when I saw a writing prompt on Pinterest and decided to take a crack at it. Here is the original version of what became the first chapter:
As the Ice Cream truck passes the driver sees us standing there in confusion. He stops. He rolls down the window. "Are you new?" He yells. "Yeah," I respond "Why?" He began to speak again "Come here." He said in the same loud tone. "Why should I?" I say nervously. "Because I don't want to just sit here yelling at you." He yells back. I can't really find issue with this logic so I turn to see if my family will walk up with me. They vigorously shake their heads. Thanks family. I walk down to the truck. He leans out and says "All the people on this street are severely lactose intolerant. Like, really bad. They all run in and hide so I don't stop here. I tried telling this to my boss but he won't let me change the route. Here's an ice cream on the house, welcome to the neighborhood." I accept since his tone has completely changed. The next morning I wake up with horrible stomach cramps, but I'm not lactose intolerant, and I'm beginning to think that are our neighbors aren't either.
The people of Pinterest liked it and I got several requests to do an entire novel. So I set a 1 month Like goal and said that if it was hit, I would write. Well it was hit and now we're here. The real first chapter is coming out soon and it's going to be a bit different because I have to create a whole story and I have more elbow room in terms of character limits. There's going to be more characters, detail, foreshadowing, etc. so it can be a proper beginning.
I'm going to be doing shout outs and credits in the descriptions once the first chapter is aired and as the series continues.
