((Just born))
Water dripped off the roof top as the rain finally slowed down to a halt. The chatter of small children playing soon returned as the kids came out for recess. Teachers caught kids being too affectionate for the third grade- as if hugging someone was gonna make them date. The lamps surrounding the playground flickered on as the sun refused to show itself from under the dark clouds.
The air remained damp even after the children and rain were long gone. It hung and turned into fog. Drivers honked their horns from the nearby street, turning their headlights on to cut through the thick cling of the fog. The road quickly quieted however- it was midnight and no one was really on the streets at all in the little town of Hasham.
A small brown-haired baby girl whined as she fidgeted in her crib.
"Calm down Liris, its just fog." A calm woman said, "it won't hurt you."
The baby kept on crying, till her mother picked her up and sang her a lullaby. She layed the girl back down and walked to her bed beside the crib.
She fixed the covers and walked into the kitchen and grabbed her water bottle. The door unlocked and opened and the girls father walked in through the door.
"Hey honey, im hoooooooome." He said.
"Hey honey" she said as she smiled.
He came over and kissed her before going into their room. She followed him and they snuggled into bed and fell asleep.

((Age 4))
Liris stepped on up onto the yellow bus for the first time.
"Good bye, Liris!!", her mom called, " I love you!!"
Liris sat down in the very first seat on the right side and waved good bye to her mom. She made her hands form a small heart as the bus drove away.
A few stops away, a girl sat down next to Liris. She was a 5th grader- so much older than Liris.
After a little while, the bus stops in front of the elementary school and the 4th and 5th graders get off. The bus starts moving again, picks up a few more children, and then dropped the K-3 students off at the Primary school.
((Age 6))
The babysitter knocked on the door. He was dressed nicely- not really for the occasion. All the furniture was covered in plastic, just in case Liris spilled something on them. He walked in and Liris' parents walked out.
After Liris was put to bed, loud, shrill screams filled the room. She heard a quiet voice say "Don't worry, I won't leave you." A faint "thud" and "click" of door. She crawled out of bed, only to see her parents, one's throat slit and one pinned up against the wall with a knife in his chest. She ran away, past the bodies, and to the phone.
"Hello? 911? My parents are all bloody and not moving."
((Age 13))
The house smelled like fresh baked cookies. The door opened up as the clock struck 2:30 and cold air cut through the warm atmosphere for a moment.
"I'm home aunt!" Liris said just a bit loud.
"How was school dear?"
"Like normal"
She peered into the lit oven door to temporarily watch the cookies rise. Then she went up to her room, got out her laptop, and sat on her bed.
She opened skype and pressed the call button. It picked up.
"Hey guys!!" she said aloud
"Hey Liris!' her friend Elvane said, "How are you?"
"Good, you?"
"Pretty good!"
Her and her friend talked for hours until Liris heard a loud thunk from downstairs. She rushed down the stairs, only to find her aunt, with her leg twisted at a weird angle, laying on the kitchen floor with cookies scattered all about.
"Sorry" she said and shut her laptop. She grabbed her phone and dialed 9-1-1 again.
"Hello, yes? I think my aunt just died?"
((Age 16))
After the "incident" where Liris' aunt slipped, fell down, and died from the blunt force of her head hitting the hard tile floor, Liris' moved in with her godparents. Their names were Susan and Jillian Lunton, and they loved Liris just as much as her own parents did.
There wasn't really much that happened here, Liris was in highschool, and had a relatively normal life for a while. She did move from her hometown to a new state, however. It was nice there.
Sometimes, she wondered what happened to that babysister that babysat her back when she was six. Was he still alive? Dead? In jail? I mean, he was 12 years older than her. He probably wouldn't care for her anymore. She still knew his name- Illias.
Would they ever meet again? That was the real question that she asked herself every now and then.
((Age 18))
The wind blew threw Liris' hair as the top of the car rolled down. It was her 18th birthday and some of her older friends took her out to eat and then out for a nice drive. The driver may or not have had a few drinks but insisted that he wasn't drunk at all. I'm sure that all of the people in the car knew that he was lieing but they didn't care.
They were rolling fast down the highway on the way to the states mall that was more up north than them. The road started to split into to roads. But the driver didn't bother turning. They drove straight off of the tall, raised highway. The car landed hard on the barren rocky ground and tossed and tossed itself. The windows had all shattered and there was a big piece of glass stuck in Liris' chest. Everyone in the car was still.
((Almost-Present time))
Hey! It's Liris here. So, you just heard most of my life's story, huh? Those first few years were sure deadvastating right?? Well, since that was mainly told from that omniscient point of view, you don't really know what happened after the car crashed or what it felt like.
Well, I think I passed out once the car drove off the highway. I only remember the impact of the car hitting that really rocky ground, and I barely remember the glass stabbing me. The rest really was a blur, it happened so fast. But when I "woke up" there was white. Just white, everywhere. Then it became a gradient pink. It looked like clouds, and I walked into one. I don't remember what happened in the "cloud". I came out and I looked different, I think. I was healed, no pain, and I guess I looked more like I wanted to. My godparents were kinda conservative, and wouldn't let me dress the way I wanted to. If so much as my shoulder showed they would yell. But I loved them all the same.
I woke up in a place known as Haven. I was immedietly enrolled in their human protection program. I had become an angel!
Oh! I have a girlfriend! I actually met her in Haven, her name is Marinelle. (I never told my godparents I was gay lol)
Well that's all!

I walked around Haven. There were so many people here, but I didn't know a single person. The ground was soft though, if you really could call clouds the ground, and I was quite content with what I was doing even though it was nothing. I looked into the distance. There were two people, walking towards me, vaguely recognizable at first. But once they came towards be I realized who they were. I ran towards them and gave them a giant hug.
"I missed you!" I said, almost on the verge of tears, "Its been so long!"
I stood up and got a good look of their faces. The woman had short blonde hair that was nice and slightly wavy, and she wore a black ¾ sleeve top with a cross pin on the right shoulder and a long flowy white skirt that went down to her ankles. She wore glasses and had blue eyes. The man had short brown hair that was sorta messy and wore a white button up shirt with a collar and wore dark grey pants with a belt that were a bit to short and came up above his ankles showing off his brown loafers. He also had blue eyes.
"Oh honey, we missed you too." They both gave me a big hug, "We're glad to see you again, but, how long has it been?"
"Its been 12 years mom, its only been 12 years. Im only 18."
My mom started to get teary eyed,
"Oh you died so young, I wish you could have lived a longer life and lived with us! I've waited so long to see you again."
I gave her a big hug,
"It wasn't my fault I died, it was the driver in the front seat driving drunk on the highway."
Another voice spoke up,
"Either way, its nice to have you here, Liris."
We all started to walk around a bit, talking on and on about what happened.
"So you guys were murdered, right? Sometimes I forget."
"Yeah we were," said dad, "by that babysitter that we hired that night. What was his name again?"
"Illias. Illias Denotum. What a nice boy, I never understood why he did that to us. Mason, what exactly did he do to you again?"
"He stabbed me against the wall through the chest with the same knife that he slit your throat with, Bell."
My parents sighed at the thought, like it was a peaceful memory of the day the baby sitter killed them.
"Actually, I heard that he was killed that night. He was in a gang and was supposed to have killed me, but he couldn't cause I was so young. I wonder if he's here! That would be quite interesting."
Mom's eyes grew wide,
"Oh yes! That would be interesting, but people who murder others don't get to come up here. They get sent to UnderWorld."
"Oh"
"Yeah"
"Well, It was nice talking again! But I really have to go , I don't want to be late for the human protection program meeting!"
They both waved "Bye!"
