The blue sunset. A lovely colour, reminding everyone to be calm. This was a rare occasion. By inverting the colours of a typical sunset almost everyone feels happiness. Except some with a certain type of colour blindness. Insecurities. Yes, I know, insecurities isn’t a type of colour blindness one may say. But it is. Through the eyes of one with insecurities, everyone, everything, is just another thing to haunt one's mind. Wishing to turn back time. A time to before reality came. Dreaming of cars, easy life. Dreams that were ruined by dreams. The hard truth is that by dreaming, you never get. You need to wait. And earn it.
Kami and Amy. They are now living together in a small shack in a dark ally together. This sunset, why today they asked. It hasn't even been two days of living under the rock of fear. And here I lay a lovely sunset upon them.
The sun went away. It started to rain. They were the only thing each other had. Amy cried. “What have we done?” Kami placed his hand on Amy’s head. “What did we do to deserve this!?” She yelled. A crow sitting on the nearby lamppost flown away. A feather fluttering utop the little shed.
With his other hand, Kami grabbed onto the feather. “Maybe I could use this to write home.”
“Home?” Amy said with a bewildering face. “Yes, home, surely Comet would not destroy the Origami family.”
“The Origami family? Like the Origami, Origami family?” Kami nodded his head, “Like the billionaire delinquents, whose son ran off Origami?... You're a Billionaire!!?” “You got a problem with that?” He said. “But they are all the way in Jawan! (Japan) How did you even get here?” “Don't know, I just decided to run off, once they found me I started to use my GL ability to jump away and it lead me here. Wait. Could we still have them?”
An owl hooted right on time, as if giving a que. “But Comet stripped us of everything, how do you even know that you family even exists or that we could use our ability?”
“Why don't you find out? That is your power isn't it?”
“And why don't you do it? It is just a jump.”
The owl gave an intimidating look as if were to say for Amy to use her ability.
Amy sighed, okay let me see. I don't see anything, not even on me. Kami sighed. Even the closest thing he had to himself was taken. He couldn't believe that. He went for a small jump and landed on the roof next to him. He was quite relieved, “What do you mean I don't have my powers?”
“I can't see anything, its like you have yours and I don't have mine.”
“Remember what Comet said, that you will pay more than me?” I guess you really lost everything, you don't even have your glasses.”
“Could be, but would that really be it?”
“I don't know, I don't care I'm using this feather to write home.”
There was silence except for scratching of shoe ink on parchment. An owl hooted breaking the silence. Both of them gasped and started shaking. Unlike before random noises scared them extraordinarily. It was quite a rare event in they weren't frightened from an occasional ‘boo’ coming from a child. The feather in Kami’s hand went back and forth, back and forth until he managed to get the feather off the paper. He put it down and sat in the little shed against the wall. “I'm going to bed.”
In a matter of minutes, Kami was knocked out against the wall in a bundled up position. Still standing, Amy looked over at him. “He is so hot…” she thought out loud, gasping she covered her mouth and stayed silent. Kami moving his head. “No no no! What am I thinking?! This shouldn't be. He is a horrible person. But his spiked back, blonde hair, fierce, scary golden eyes, and lite but muscular body… No. No. No. No!”
She sat 5 feet next to him, closed her eyes, and fell asleep with a slight smile.
The next day Kami woke up at 5-ish in the morning and got working. Using scraps scattered around the alleyway, he build a small sundial, found a pencil, and a half way empty bag of chips, found some nicer cloth for clothes than the previous ones, glasses with one of the lense missing for Amy, and befriended the owl that scared him the night before.
30 minutes later Amy woke up, it was 6 according to the sundial. Kami showed his progression toward Amy as well as handing her the glasses. “How do they work?” He said that with his typically angry voice. “They are fine, just can't see far away very well.”
The lightpost cut off as they bounced back like a rubber band at the lack of light. Amy, motte frightened than Kami, moved towards him and he backed off but with a puzzled face notice that the owl still didn't go off nor to sleep. “Hmm… let's try something.” Kami thought moving towards the corner with the feather, shoe ink, and fancy parchment he found. He picked up the feather and continued the writing.
Dear Father,
A certain incident happened from a result of my misbehavior.
As such, I am in need of assistance.
Me and one other are in Anarithia, Engwand.
As the next head of the Origami family, I will take full responsibility for anything that has or will happen to me, or the Origami family.
Sincirely,
Kami Y. Origami
He neatly folded the paper and gave it to the owl. It nodded and took off with the note in the correct direction. Amy said, “What are you doing?” “Well genius getting help. Can't you see we have been ridden of everything? If they are still there they will probably send a helicopter in 3-5 weeks based on the owls movement.”
A man walked in the ally ignoring them as if they didn't exist, them asking for money, he threw a half empty bag of chips away. “Woah, woah, woah. This is the same chips as yesterday, it has the same funny chip in it, what is this?” They decided for the first time to go out the ally onto the streets. It was quiet. Just like yesterday, but the sign that said ‘Closed on Sundays’ was still there even though it should have been a Monday.
“Did you seriously befriend an owl?” Amy said with a friendly tone. “Shut up,” Kami immediately replied covering her mouth with his hand. She threw his hand off after panicking for a few seconds, “hey! You shouldn't treat a girl like that! You should learn what it means to hurt a girls’ feelings!” She went for a roundhouse kick and Kami caught it, “You are such an idiot you know that? First off, I don't care if I hurt your feelings or not, Second you don't even notice anything off! Now keep quiet unless you want me to hurt you.” He turned his head around back and forth, looking around the streets. He picked up a couple of oddly shaped rocks and threw them at windows having each of them breaking, “what are you doing! D-” Kami scuffled her mouth up again giving her a death scare as she started shaking walking back to the ally.
It was only 10 and the area was heating up a lot.
The wind picked up, a paper landed besides Amy’s foot. “Yay more paper!” She said with glee, flipping the paper over her face went that direction as well, it said ‘how well do you trust those, who keep a secret, just like you?’
It was obviously something out of book or so because it was ripped. Amy cried. “Angie, Lucas, Anthony.” On her knees, Kami then quickly came to a realization that this was their treatment. They were stuck. Stuck in a time lapse repeating Sunday, the day where all the nearby food shops and other stores were closed. The only food being, the man without a face, throwing out half a bag of chips.
