"Oh.... I-I didn't realize that-" I stutter. "No need to speak your highness. We all make mistakes once in our lives." He bows and gives me a look of a "we need to talk" look. I dismiss the servant and tell the Duke to come in. I close the door behind him and lead him to the couch. Soon enough, Emily bursts from the closet, again, and runs over to the couch where the Duke is. I give Emily a look of "go back to the closet" look, but she doesn't take the hint and just turns her back. "Well, uh I see you have a child in here. What for?" He asks, looking at Emily and pushing her away. "Well you see, I- uh am babysitting my friends daughter Emily" I say, pointing to Emily, "And its for two weeks." "Ah, I see. But I do have a question. Is this pesky child going to get in the way of your duties of being queen?" "Oh no of course not." I say, gulping in a nervous way. He nods and stands up, backing away from Emily. Emily looks at him with a sad look and looks as if she's going to cry. I tell the Duke goodbye and he leaves as I close the door. "Well. That didn't go as planned." I say to myself. Emily comes over to me and hugs my legs and looks up at me with a sweet smile. I smile down at her and pick her up and she leans her head on me. "You ready to go eat dinner?" I say. She nods her head excitedly and wiggles to get down. I put her down and I take her hand and open the door as we head down the long hall towards the dinning area.
As we enter the dinning area, some of the servants look at me and Emily as we pass by. I look away from them and head to the kitchen where I tell the chef to make a big meal. I want to make an announcement to all of the servants of my new addition. They probably will all freak out but I don't care. As long as I have some support from them, that's all that matters.
