Daniels' perspective:

I sat there for a while thinking, ‘Now that I think about it I haven’t told Father about the thing.’ I wonder what my Father would do, I have a feeling he would be like Rhys he’d want me to get ‘cured.’ I could tell that Rhys was having difficulties, I felt really bad. Rhys lying there made me feel very uncomfortable because I have a feeling I will do something to him. For some reason at this moment in time, I felt my heart flutter what was this feeling? I feel so confused...

Rhys’ perspective:I woke up to a warm hand, I think I must have fainted. I tried to lift my head to see who it was, but I was too exhausted. All I could tell was that whoever this mystery person was, they were really warm. I had a slight feeling that it was Daniel and I was hoping it was Daniel. But Daniel was the one that did say that he didn’t care that if I stayed out or not, I just wished it was him. I finally got enough strength to move my head and to my surprise Daniel was lying there , he looked so adorable. I moved my hand by accident and Daniel looked up so fast. His face was so close to mines that we nearly kissed. It felt like hours until he swiftly moved his head and said,”Sorry.”

“O-oh no it’s ok.” I said but I knew my face was heating up.

“Hey are you ok? Your face is getting red.” He placed his forehead on mines. “Oh...sorry.” He apologised again. I tried to say that it was ok but he stood up too quick for me. “I’m going to get a drink. You?”

“Oh yes! can I have a water please.” He walked into the kitchen perfect time for my heart to calm down. I haven’t even asked him what happened, I thought. I picked up my phone to see if my mum had called, I got three text messages constantly telling me not to go home, this just made me go home even more.

Authors' perspective:

Rhys ran out of the house and accidentally slammed the door, Rhys was still a bit weak but he didn't care, Rhys knew exactly what this message meant and he just wished that he made it home on time. Daniel heard the slamming of the door and dropped all of the glass cups on the floor, Daniel didnt care about the noise the cups made, right this very moment he just cared about Rhys. Daniel was very fast so he caught up to Rhys, he saw that Rhys was crying. "Rhys! What's wrong?" Daniel asked.

"My parents!" he screamed, Daniel ran ahead of him because he was much faster and saw that his house was broken into. He called the ambulance and the police really quickly. They said that they would get here instantly. Rhys finally got to his house and he just fell on the ground crying his eyes out. It was just a simple break in so Daniel couldn't understand why he was like this. Little did Daniel know what awaited from him on the inside would horrify his mind. 

"Rhys?... Are you ok?"

"Do I look Ok? Do I? Do I? COME ON ANSWER ME, ANSWER ME!" He screamed at me still crying. Daniel started to walk inside the house when Rhys just grabbed my hands and said, "I'm sorry, just don't go in there if they are still in there they will kill you."

"Bu-" 

"Just. Don't. Go. In. There." The sternness of Rhys' voice scared Daniel. "Listen to me. You go in there and you will get yourself killed." Daniel looked back to his house and firmly made him let go of Daniels hand. He didn't care if he would get myself killed, Rhys' family was in there. "WHY DON'T YOU LISTEN TO ME? WHY HAVEN'T YOU CHANGED ONE BIT? WHY DON'T YOU REMEMBER ME? WHY?!" This made Daniel stop dead of his tracks and look around. Tears were streaming down Rhys' face, it was like time just froze, it was just Daniel and Rhys. "Even if I lose my family I could never forgive myself if I lost you...please. Remember me." Daniels' eyes were getting watery and then tears, endless tears came out of Daniels' eyes. And then all memories came flooding back to Daniel.

"You were ice-cream kid, your house, your body heat, your smell. That was why it was so familiar." Rhys was crying again. Daniel ran up to Rhys and just hugged him. "I'm so sorry I forgot. I'm so sorry." Daniel apologized over and over until the police and ambulance came. They questioned Daniel and Rhys over and over until they said they could go home. They wouldn't tell them anything about Rhys' parents all they knew was that they were alive but severely injured. They told Rhys that he would have to stay somewhere else, and so Daniel decided that Rhys could stay at his house for a while, until things got settled.
