He looked down the street and cast a finder spell. He'd put a magical marker on Harry after he'd run off during dinner and Draco had to search for him for hours. Apparently, Harry had been following him and had found his invisibility cloak. Ron laughed so hard when Draco had sat down, sure that Harry was gone and Harry revealed himself and yelled "Boo!" Draco, wasn't impressed and nearly had a heart attack that day.
Gleam!
Something caught Draco's eye as he walked toward the dinner Harry was in. He looked to see an odd figure.
It was perfect!
He quickly bought it and headed on his way.
Sure enough, Draco showed up with his arms full of bags. Harry lit up, but stayed quiet. They had just finishes their mane meals. Draco sat down next the Blaize, across from Harry.
"Geeze! Did you buy him the whole store?!" Draco huffed and Blaize. "No. For you information these are Christmas presents for everyone." Hermione handed Draco a small purse. "Here. Put them in here." She said. Draco gave her a look meaning to ask if she was an idiot. She glared back. "It's an undetectable explaion charm. Don't give me that look." She warned. Draco gave it to her for a second more, if only for his own amusement, before he started to place the tied shut bags inside. She rolled her eyes.
Soon, a waitress came over. "Would you like dessert?" Everyone looked stuffed. Well, except for one person. He looked like he hadn't eaten in days. Hermione was about the shake her head when Malfoy spoke up. "Yes. What do you have?" He asked. Catching the bright smile the crossed Harry's face in the corner of his eye. but it disappeared as soon as it had appeard. Odd.
When the waitress was done listing things off Drack turned to Harry. "What do you want birthday boy?" He asked. Harry looked so confused and and happy. "You mean, I get the choose a desert for myself at a real restaurant?!" Draco nodded and Harry lit up even more. If that was even possible.
Harry had gotten the Chocolate cake. It was supposed to be just a slice, but because Draco had mentioned a birthday in front of the waitress, it was a whole mini cake. Plus, he got to feel the increadable amount of embarrassment you feel when complete strangers start to sing happy birthday to you, alerting everyone in the restaurant of your birthday. He didn't even know what to do.
Harry sat there awkwardly. His smile was full of embarrassment and uncertainty that matched his bright red face well. Draco chuckled as he watched the boy.
Guess Harry wasn't kinding when he said he didn't like attention. He remembered back during 4th year when Harry was always strutting around in the courtyard for no reason. Wounder what changed?
After they had left Harry took a moment to reajust to the world before starting on his cake.
He ate quickly. It tastes so good. Draco smiled. So Harry Potter has a sweet tooth huh? Who knew? Even Ron and Hermione looked surpised.
"Careful." The Hermione-mom warned. "You'll get a stomache ache if you eat to much." No sooner had she said that, that Harry dropped his fork and whinced, clutching his gut.
She sighed in exasperation. "See?"
Draco, looked a little more concerned when Harry's eyes met his. This wasn't a stomache ache. "Do you need to go to the bathroom?" He asked. Harry nodded. Draco stood up and held a hand out toward the boy. "Come on. I'll show you where it is." He said. Harry took his hand and the two puickly headed for the bathroom.
In one of the bigger stalls, Harry almost collapsed in pain. Bruises appeared all over him.
"What's wrong?" Draco asked, concerned. "Nothing. It's, fine" Harry gasped out. Draco heard a crack and tears started to escape Harry's eyes. Still, he didn't cry. Draco did the only thing he knew he could. He wrapped his arms around the trembling boy and held him until the pain subsided.
"Here." He said, handing a small viel of Pain Reliever potion Madam Pomcrey had sent with them. Harry took it and just a few moment's later felt fine again. He stood back up and handed the viel back to Draco.
"Thank you." He said, keeping his eye's to the ground. Drack senced there was something wrong. He dropped to meet Harry's eyes. "Harry. What's wrong." Silence filled the air.
Draco sighed and reached for his pocket. "Here. Happy birthday." He said, Handing Harry a small metal object.
"A, key?" Harry asked. Grateful, but confused. Draco nodded. Yep. I won't tell you what it goes to though. That, you have to figure on your won." Draco said with a wink. Harry brightened at the threat of an adventure. He'd always wanted to go on an adventure, this could be fun.
Draco and Harry walked back out to the table.
"Hey, what's that?" Blaize asked, glacing at the key Draco held in his hands. "Look! Draco gave me a birthday present!" He showed off his key to everyone, who gave Draco confused glances.
After Harry had finished his cake, everybody headed off outside. Until all the papers were worked out, Draco still didn't have a penny to his name. That meant, no ride. Everybody groaned when they realized they'd be walking to Malfoy Manner
"But that could take forever!" Ron whined. Draco scoffed. "Oh shush. It's not my fault not all of us have been there before." It's true. Neville had never been there and Luna had only ever seen the basement. Blaise and Pansy had only ever hitched off their parent's apperations and only ever saw the conference room. Really, Only the golden trio knew how to get there and they were one person short.
Draco sighed again and continued walking.
