The cat's pretty nice.
I mean, he's good company. Doesn't usually bother me, and he's quite the cute one too. Fluffy, like pancakes.
Little Mongrel sure enjoys the house life.
Not sure I could say that for myself, though.
Being stuck at home for days on end will drive you crazy. I mean, there's literally nothing to do that I've already done, and I can't go outside, because Pa's off looking for work, and…
Basically, I'm bored out of my mind.
Honestly, if I start hallucinating, it's no surprise.
And that's probably why I'm writing to you. To keep myself sane.
I'm a horrible friend if it's just like that.
Have you ever tried to just do nothing for hours on end?
Like, just lying down somewhere, windows open and perfectly angled to catch a breeze, and not notice anything?
It's actually quite peaceful. Like you finally found a place to anchor your roaming heart in this world, and nothing can move it.
You should try it sometime. Better yet, I should try it more.
Except it's probably a waste of time, and I'd sleep after a few minutes.
I need to get used to doing nothing.
It's probably what I'll be doing for the rest of my life.
