The party was going great. It spiraled later into a Halo tournament by the time the pizza arrived. They had ordered around 6 pizzas. "Even that might not be enough." John had said. "No I'm not giving you money. What do you mean outrageous? You were an hour late!" He was arguing with the pizza guy. Parker was sitting on the couch. The people playing Halo were Red, Darkrye, and Lucy. She had really liked video games, which is a quality Parker loved about her. Among many other qualities mind you. John was the fourth player but he was busy getting the pizzas. Red was killing him over and over, laughing the whole time.
John finally finished heckling the pizza guy. "Trying to charge me extra. The nerve or some people." He muttered to himself. "Pizza!" He shouted to everyone. Before minute 2 the pizza was almost gone.
Later in the party Parker had to pull Red aside. "So, what's with the papers?" Parker asked, still eating pizza. Red shrugged. "That suit guy asked me to. Said something big was coming." Red responded, mimicking the chief in the last sentence. Parker would've laughed but he began to think on what Red just said. Something big was coming? What the hell did that mean? He finally decided that he would worry about it tomorrow. He walked back into the party.
It was 3 AM and they were just wrapping up a horror movie. Everyone was asleep except for Parker and Suzy. Parker learned very quickly that Suzy is horrified of scary movies. She was hugging him most of the time. He had watched so many it didn't phase him much. When the credits rolled he asked her to wait there, he had a surprise. So she sat and waited.
After 5 minutes Parker came out. When Suzy looked she saw he was in suit pants and a white shirt and a black vest. He held out his hand. "Come on. I wanna show you something." He had said quietly. She blushed and took his hand. They walked out to the porch. Once they were in the middle of the porch, Parker clapped his hands together, and a beautiful thing happened. There were white lights strung all over the patio. Her favorite music playing over a speaker. She turned around it amazement. "What's all this for?" She asked, barely able to get the words out. He hugged her from behind.
"It's for you." He said, resting his head on hers. He spun her around and they did something neither expected; they danced. They danced and they danced and they danced some more. It was slow. Suzy liked that. The entire city of lights was next to them. Neither wanted it to end. They had known eachother since they were children, all the way through the agency academy, and now here.
"I love you." He said. This time, she heard him.
They kissed surrounded by thousands of lights.
