The ball continued on without much notice. None of the guests ever realized that the prince had gone off into his private chamber with the mysterious person. Carbel lay naked beside the sleeping form of his equally naked brother. Grunting in discomfort from the ache in his nether regions. Slipping out of the large, king sized European style bed, he cast aside the annoying curtains of the four posters that surrounded it. Stretching his hickey marked body, he yawned. He needed a bath, he was still sticky and wet from the past few hours incestuous excursion.
Carbel turned to kneel beside Salthazar's peacefully slumbering form. He stared down at the sleeping face of his treacherous brother...
Remembering... he shook his thoughts free from his mind as he dressed quietly so as to not awaken the Alpha.
He could not help, as he stared at the room he now stood in. Looking at all the finery strewn across the walls. Every expensive vase, every golden spoon, every priceless painting. Remembering their mother, all she endured, other thoughts of her slipping into his mind.
How she struggled to keep a roof over their heads while his father and youngest brother lay up in this castle like swine. Hate began to swell in his chest. Carbel glared, his eyes spinning red and black with anger as he recalled events from the past. So easy would it be to wrap his hands around Salthazar's neck and squeeze….but no.
He could not do such a thing, he had to bide his time and wait, he could feel the life even as early as it was, his vampiric power allowing him to recognize the fact that soon a child would develop.
A child he fully intended to groom in order to gain vengeance against his despicable brother. But, that could only happen after Salthazar became King, Carbel knew his brother was already married. Tobias, a cousin of theirs from their grandparents on their mother's side.
Tobias was a cold and angry man. He was an Omega, and a beauty all the same. Salthazar coveted him like a child with a favored toy. The Alpha had married the striking albino after being crowned as heir to the throne after the death of their mother. It enraged, him, infuriated him even, to know that their vile father was such a bastard. Such a vile bastard to allow the killer of his children's mother, even if it was her own son, to be happy.
Though their father had pointed the finger at Carbel, blaming him for the murder... when he'd been heir to the throne.
Salthazar, before Carbel discovered the truth behind their mother's death, had told him the safest thing to do would be to give up his right to the throne. His brother suggested this with all seriousness, leading the Omega to believe him.
Because Sal had told him, 'Staying in the line will only raise suspicion around you. If mother had another child your rule would be nullified. You must protect yourself, come back when things have calmed'
He'd wanted to kill Salthazar after learning of the lie he'd told. Just thinking about it right now, as he stood in this massive room with it's powder blue tapestries and it's finely woven decorative yellow and pink carpets. It's over exaggerated bed and it's ornate door. He hated this room. He hated Salthazar.
Just thinking about it made him want to vomit.
Salthazar was crowned heir as soon as Carbel stepped away. The elder brother could not prove his brother had killed their mother. A few months later Sal was starting a new life with his Omega wife. A new life, after just destroying the life their mother sacrificed to raise the constant reminders of what Taijit did to her.
She struggled everyday. Their father behaved as no true King ever would. He could often be found drowning children in rivers. Or tearing Alphas from their Omegas or Betas for even the smallest of magical offenses.
Carbel had no idea what he'd done to their mother. He did know that his brother was a scheming, seedy, monster. A monster who sided with their father's treatment of not just the people, but of the magic users of Dirue. Far and wide known as mages, wizards, sorcerers, witches, warlocks, long since rebranded as Vampswill. Vampswill was a degrading term for those vampires who used magic in general. Not to let this discourage them only the mightiest of the magic users proudly proclaimed themselves Vampswill.
The sorceress stood from his kneeling position beside his brother's sleeping form. He addressed very few people before he left through the large crowds. Crowds that were still dancing around and about the castle.
Revenge was a dish best served with a son whom would remain loyal only to him…
Hours into the night, the cold wind whipping at his face making him shiver, Carbel left on a ship headed to the Moonlight Island. It was a place where he would locate The Oracle Of Dirue and uncover what destiny had planned for he and his unborn child of vengeance.
