“Hey” I said as my friends, John and Lucas approached me.
“Happy birthday!” John and Lucas yelled.
“We are so going to the bar to celebrate, I will pay.” They both seemed to be much more excited than me, after having 159 birthdays, one more makes no difference. When we got to the bar, I already wanted to leave, it was way too crowded for my taste. When you live in a small town there is only so much things you can do, so everyone is at the bar on a Friday night. When my friends went to go get us some drinks, I went to find a spot for us to sit. After two hours, I was ecstatic to leave, so when they said they were ready, I dashed to the door. Bam! I finally got to the door and hit someone when I opened it.
“oh! I am so sorry about tha-”. She was beautiful, the most beautiful woman I had ever seen. “Hello, I am sorry about hitting you with the door, I was in such a hurry to get out of there I did not even think of somebody being on the other side. My name is Adam”
“It's alright, it is my fault for standing right in front of the door.” The girl looks past me into the crowded bar. “ It looks pretty crowded in there, I get why you needed to get out of there fast” with a little chuckle she turned back to face me and gives me a big smile, it made my heart skip a beat.
“Well in a small town like this, there is nothing to do other than visit the local bar, especially when it is a Friday, do you not like crowds either?”
“What is someone who 'does not like crowds' doing in the most crowded place. Seem like this is the place you would avoid at all costs” I found it hard to not laugh at her trying to tease me.
With a small laugh, I answered.”well normally I do but my friends dragged me here today, it's my birthday and they cant help but want to celebrate so every year I get dragged down here for two hours.”
“Well well well, happy birthday, birthday boy I don't have a present for you so I hope this will do.” She gave me a kiss on the cheek. “Goodbye birthday boy, hope we meet again.” She left me speechless, I sat there staring off into the distance, where she disappeared from my view. It was the first time I had met someone like her.
